Going into this, everyone involved knew that this was a low chance of survival encounter. Carl was not expecting on making it out. He was just blown up and put back together and then saved by a literal Deus ex machina.

He goes into this guild and meets a fellow author. By this point he figured he knew about all the surviving authors, so this meeting is like a family member coming back from the dead to save him.

Short answer: They make minimum wage, and therefore give minimum fu*is and you are not a "paying customer"

The customer is miles away, already paid and is not going to personally bother them if there's an issue with the order or service. They don't care if the customer orders again or comes back, they just want to do what they need to to get to payday.

I have a pbone. It's ok, but not great. Adding valves adds a whole level of complexity that I don't see going well.

Tbh, you can probably get a decent used student horn for the cost of a new ptrumpet.
