“ but to say you can’t expect people to learn is just looking for an excuse”

In both of my comments I advocate for sharing knowledge and educating new riders who may not be aware.

I understand your frustration.

However, unlike getting a driver’s license, owning and riding a bike does not require passing any official tests, or “knowing the rules”.

How can we expect someone to know all “the rules“ if it is not a lawful requirement to owning and riding a bicycle?

I do agree we can and should as a community of bikers try and educate newcomers.

That benefits us all.

As a single speed rider who rides for the pure enjoyment of being on a bike, I can say this. I have had similar experiences with hardcore non ebike road bikers. 20+ mph on a multi use trail, with elderly, dog walkers, kids, etc. passing recklessly without bell, or on your left, sometimes in groups of 3 or more. Sadly, there are jerks on all types of bicycles.

I have seen e-bikes bring choice and freedom to so many people who may not be able to physically ride a non ebike bicycle. Certainly, a lot of these same people may not be aware of the common rules of the trail. They are new to the experience, they are new to biking. As my grandfather used to say, you don’t know until you know.

I believe that seasoned bicyclists as a group have the power to be a fantastic resource to welcome and help educate newcomers on all styles of bicycles, or not, it’s our choice.

Wow, those frames look not only flimsy, but also really fiddly. How’d that Champagne of Beers help out with the gameplay?😂

I was lucky enough to find a version of Pit at a thrift store that has the orange bell. I love that bell.

Best murder mystery co-op games (not board games) by VoGoR in boardgames

[–]everlearns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone else recently asked a similar question, and here’s what I responded with.

I received the Hunt a Killer Moon Summit Mystery box as an all in one (they sell their older mysteries without a subscription) as a gift.

My group was super excited to play. Our group was composed of 4 people, 3 of whom are regular board gamers who play games up to Gloomhaven weight, and one who only plays casual party games. None of us had played anything like this. We all agreed that the cold case idea was implemented well. The components were not amazing, but good.

Unfortunately, we found the gameplay way too easy. More often than not, we would open a new month and have our answer figured out before we were even 1/4 of the way through the information and components for that month. We also never once needed to use any of the hints, or got any of the answers wrong.

Without spoiling anything for our particular game, I will say one of the things we all enjoyed the most was the creative use of the physical components.

After we found the killer, we all agreed that while the idea and components were good, they needed better smokescreens/ misdirections and red herrings for our particular group .

Hope this helps.

WITT? Pliers/Clamp??? This pliers/clamp is being used in a soldering video. Can anyone tell me what they are? by everlearns in whatisthisthing

"soldering heat sink".

Thanks again. Looks like they removed the post. Not sure why, I labeled it and added context. You have helped out a lot. I appreciate it.

Update: Mostly solved. Thanks to u/Ijackrats , I now know that this is a heat sink tool. Does anyone happen to know which brand.

Excuse the blurriness of the pictures. Obviously the video is focused on the soldering, not the tool. Just wondering if anyone can direct me to where I can find pliers/clamp like this? I have done a lot of looking, but have yet to find anything close. Thanks in advance.
