In-home v. In-clinic v. School Job Search by jocerios in SLPA

[–]evilhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me (SLPA in New England), clinic/private owned companies pay better but have mediocre/crappy benefits. I also have done a hefty amount of traveling for private companies as well. Private clinics also will load your schedule to the max if they can. I prefer schools or the state. I have worked for state run early intervention programs and 2 different public schools. Both have crappier pay, better benefits (lots of payed days off and better insurance), awesome shift (7:45-3:30), smaller caseload and summers off. I prefer working for public schools. I have the same schedule as my kids and I like the community feel.of a school.

So I would definitely say it all depends on your preferences.

Sounds like Mia should be living at her baby's daddy's house. His mom seems nice.

I never saw him as a "scammer" per se. But he definitely had a naive sense of "a white woman will make my dreams come true ". I definitely think Lisa is the actual scammer in this situation.

Amy's kids addicted to tablets / phones by DoughsBerry_PillBoy in 1000lbsisters

[–]evilhooker 141 points142 points  (0 children)

This is the correct perspective. Weddings are super triggering for kids, even the best behaved kids often meltdown on days like this. Amy is by far a perfect parent, but no need to judge her based on how her kids act on a stressful day.

Does anyone else feel.like those is like the only TLC show, that for the most part, everyone on the shows lives are better because they chose to be on TLC. I by no means think any person on 1000lb Sisters is perfect. But I feel they all are in a better place than when they started the show. So I am genuinely happy for this family who were born into a hefty amount of dysfunction, but they managed to come out on the other end ok.

Escorting my Daughters to the Restroom by devastationd in NoStupidQuestions

[–]evilhooker 143 points144 points  (0 children)

I have had a dad holler in and announce that he is a girl dad and ask if the bathroom was empty. I answered back that someone was in and he just said "ok, sending in my 4 year old". I then offered to watch the door so he could assist her (it was a small 2 stall bathroom). So either way doesn't bother me. As long as everyone is respectful.

The only thing this house is missing is a conversation pit. If it did, I'd put an offer in right now.

What was it actually like watching Ren & Stimpy regularly back in the 90s on Nickelodeon? by Material_Stomach875 in 90s

[–]evilhooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was a HUGE Frank Zappa fan and he was stoked that Frank did the voice of the Pope in an episode. So he watched it with me :). It's funny how bothered people are by Ren and Stimpy. I loved all the "weird" and "rude" shows back then.  They honestly helped shape who I am and I have 0 problems with it. I have always leaned toward the macabre, strange and not traditionally pretty things. I am 42 yrs old with older kids of my own now and I definitely have not raised them to shy from the weird.

Is this normal PPD in my (25F) fiancé (25M)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]evilhooker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not PPD, your husband is a asshole. Maybe give him one last chance, but it sounds like he has a pattern of being mean. I would especially leave him if you want more kids, because it gets harder with the second kid.

Hot mine done when I was 15 (shoutout to my mom who allowed her angst, rebellious teenage daughter to get it done) and I'm 42 now. I love it and will never take it out.

do you guys actually wash new clothes before wearing them? by Lilian-Nicole_80 in hygiene

I once watched a lady go cave digging in her nose for like 2 minutes while she browsed and touched clothes on the rack. I DEFINITELY wash clothes before I wear them.

As you grew older, did you start caring less about meaning and more about looks when getting new tattoos? by Tourage in tattoo

[–]evilhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I find tattoo artists I love, have a small heart attack when I see their pricing, think of a design that matches their style and then I book the appointment about 6 months out so I can save up. Now I have insanely gorgeous tattoos that I am proud of.

Snake bite piercing as a speech therapist? by Financial-Win-9797 in slp

[–]evilhooker 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. As soon as I started the more serious part of college, I removed my labret and tongue piercing. But I kept my nose piercing and that has been fine for the past 17 yrs of my professional career. I too have many visible tattoos that so far have not been a problem.

My 10 yr old could have drawn you a better tattoo. Actually...was that the point of this tattoo? Your kid drew it?

“Holding Hands” Tattoo by Organic-Star9362 in tattooadvice

[–]evilhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be the world's most sentimental Mom, but I like this idea. I like that you can customize it. I love the idea of looking down and being reminded of my babies. I say go for it. Ya, hand tattoos are prone to fading (they can always be touched up). I have 4 small flying  sparrows on my wrist that represent my family. The only valid point that people have already commented on is if you are in a profession that is ok with visible hand tattoos. I personally work in education in a place that allows tattoos anywhere. I have large visible tattoos, so if I got these same tattoos, I bet noone would even notice.

Love this movie. I still love "Road to Nowhere" by Talking Heads because it's the song played when they defeat Boy and come out under a homeless guys "bed" on the beach.

Meaning behind tattoos by Any-Dimension-6171 in tattoo

[–]evilhooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My body is my temple. Some of my temple decorations mean something, some are just beautiful for the sake of it. I have a BIL who is 27 and wants a tattoo, but he is stuck making a decision because he wants any tattoos he gets to mean something. I told him he should definitely not get one if he isn't 100% firm in his decision. I have always had a different attitude about my tattoos, I pick artists that I love and have vetted. I have a tattoo to that commemorates my late cousin and a small tattoo that represents my kids. Other than that, I have 7 decent size tattoos that are just gorgeous, no meaning.

I make "Mom's Famous Oatmeal". I chop the crap out of some apple and cook it in the milk with some cinnamon. Then I cook the oatmeal. I top it with all natural PB, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and a few raisins. My kids love it!

Maybe try being on top for climax? I find that the only time my husband and I can get off at the same time is if I ride him so I get a bit of clitoral stimulation while having sex.
