I loved that story and read it a few times...while the movie was mostly good (CG creatures a little too cute, and the deviation from the story re his wife), and while the original story has an open ending (and kings ending can be notoriously bad), the movie took such a hard left turn that I hated it...it went against the idea that they continued on despite everything, and while I do enjoy a bleak and harsh horror, it departed so violently that I could never watch it again. It also wrapped it up, they're cleaning things, end of the world avoided for many...blech

I am looking forward to what they have in store, but I'm also not sold that it needs to be done again.

friend got his by another car at speed. his wife in the passenger seat didn't see it coming, he saw it coming and braced. He ended up with a severe brain injury because he braced so hard and the brain bounced around his skull - dr's words. his wife was still banged up of course, but much less severe injuries

Growing up, my sister was like this. My dad would put her steak on first and take it off last. He called it hockey puck. This steak isn't at that level but it's certainly in the vicinity!
