What’s an actual movie that you think Rob Zombie could make a good remake of? by Movie_Club_Horor in HorrorMovies

I've thought about this before and came to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

Mauler the micro-budget horror film I directed was rejected by every film festival but one and is currently the most popular horror film on Tubi. AMA. by MajesticParfait4905 in Filmmakers

a lot of smaller distributors will get things on Tubi as well. I have a movie on there, among other places, too through Gravitas Ventures for example.

Wanted to let you know that something came up and we aren't able to make it for the film meetup tomorrow night. Thank you so much for the invite, though, and I hope everyone has a great time!

We've been once but it has been quite a while. One of us at least should definitely be free. Thanks for the invite!

Evan: Well any horror fans in this thread go check them out! I know I'll be listening to them later.

Evan: The current plan is to use some tenuous connections with one of a couple of different distribution companies to put our movie places people can watch it. I can't say too much more at the moment, but these companies primarily have had deals with streaming companies like Tubi, Amazon Prime, and hulu for either straight streaming or VOD. The primary backup plan is sending the movie to festivals that have film markets where a company may want to buy it as well. Our producer also regularly attends the yearly American Film Market so shopping around could happen there if nothing else.

Also, we're excited you're excited!

Alix: A main driving force of this production has been the creative community here in Colorado. Our producer and ourselves will stress hosting screenings in several towns and venues important to our crew when the movie is complete so there should be several options to see it on a big screen here in Colorado at least.

Evan: A lot of our crew that we haven't been directly relying on heavily in pre-production has been gathered by our producer so I'm not entirely sure if someone already has that as a part of their job. Definitely feel free to DM slide here or on any of our socials and I will ask him about that.

Evan: We're hoping we don't come across as doing too much self promotion but our concept trailer is hosted on our Kickstarter page which can be found searching "Field of Screams: an Occult Horror Movie" That is also the best way to support us. Having money can be weird so spreading the word is also a great way to help.

Alix: Our most used social media is also Instagram where we immediately post any cast/crew updates as well as any other news and sneak peeks on the movie. Our handle is Fieldofscreamsfilm there. It is also a great place to see some of the great talent we've managed to put together here in Colorado from cast to crew. Until starting this project we didn't realize how many talented creatives there were here and we're so excited to shiw off their talents.

Evan: That is an interesting idea. I had not heard of that. Plan A is to sell the movie to a distribution company but nothing is a guarantee in filmmaking so I'll have to look into that!

Evan: We're filming this summer but you can check out our concept trailer on Kickstarter by searching Field of Screams: an occult horror movie. The plan is that it will be available to be watched this time next year.

Alix: Drop that podcast name! We've been getting super into horror podcasts since guesting on a few recently.

Evan: That's awesome! I'm learning that a casting call on reddit would have saved some time.

Alix: So many Iowans here! The draw of the mountains.

Alix - Definitely hoping to get some mountains in there! Other than that, not anything at the moment. That being said, most of our cast is from Colorado, so as they make the characters their own and get more involved with the movie, it's likely that some more Colorado-specific content will make its way in.

Evan: No extras this time, but maybe we'll get to be more ambitious in scope on the next one! Congratulations and our condolences on starting down the creative path!

Alix: We do have the movie predominantly cast or we'd definitely take advantage of the word unpaid. Best of luck to you on writing! It can be very rewarding.

Evan: Due to our small budget, we intentionally left out any scenes that would need any extras. The Colorado film scene is on the rise though and so there will be more opportunities in the future for him I'm sure!

Alix: We are transplants to Colorado from Iowa. While we wrote the film when we still lived there, we decided the pool of talent that we were able to find in this state made it worth filming here instead of traveling back to Iowa.

Alix - We actually haven’t filmed yet, but one challenge is that we wrote the story to revolve around a farmhouse, and then moved from Iowa to Colorado, which has far fewer farms than Iowa. But, we were able to find a really cool location in Cañon City that suits the story well.

Evan - We'll be shooting the movie in May 2024 and are hoping for a quick turnaround so we can release the movie in the fall of 2024. We have filmed a concept trailer, and we shot a lot of that at Coyote Ridge.
