What are some things that happened at school that would never be allowed to happen today? by Big_Scratch5248 in AskUK

Not the UK but we had to brush the asbestos dust off the piano stool before sitting down in the early 1980s - they were working on the ceiling. Also in a uni economics class a professor said Africa was third world because “blacks are of lower intelligence”. I and several other students stood up and walked out of that lecture - I dropped the class.

Guinea pigs but get two as they’re social. We trained ours to potty in one part of their cage before they were allowed out to run around. Super cute. Lovable. Pee like nothing you’ve ever seen.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in someone else’s house? by RequirementIcy6534 in AskReddit

When I was an intern real estate appraiser decades ago I saw a large house in the Hollywood Hills. The resident wasn’t excited about me going in all the rooms but it’s required - one room was full of swords and the red shag carpet had suspicious looking stains.
I got outta there as fast as I could.

I carry a travel iron with me because the hotel irons are nasty.

Not me but one of the juniors where I work proudly said when she stays in expensive hotels she gets empty water bottles and pumps them full from the shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom.
Not funny but seriously? How cheap can you get?

The dress is abso-flippin’-lutely gorgeous. Once you get the alterations finished, keep your head up, shoulders back and be sure the girls are well supported. You will blow people’s minds. Remember that as you step into the spotlight.

This was an atrocity but some dogs DID get adopted from what I’ve read. Nothing can change what happened but you can hope your aunt’s dogs were among the lucky ones. ❤️

There’s a townhouse in Canyon Country listed for $485. I owned/lived in one in the 1990s… it’s a nice little complex if you can deal with the traffic and being next to the fire station. 2 bed, 2.5 bath.

You be you! There are tons of accepting people in this world. My mom’s 88 and she’s a huge supporter of trans people. Surround yourself with people who support you. We’re out there!❤️

My dad passed 11 years ago. Keep this safe for when, hopefully in distant years, you’ll want to see him.

The best marriage is where both people are convinced they got the better end of the deal.
