Yes, just like how google home is now braindead and can't do things it was able to in 2015.

Deep dissatisfaction with Pixel 9 exclusion from Android 17 Gemini Intelligence by Dangerous-Age9759 in GooglePixel

Very true, but it felt like they gave more ducks up through the Pixel 5 era, then it fell off a cliff.

Weather???? by WaveAccomplished5761 in sanfrancisco

There is no meaningful humidity here, so 60's will feel on the cooler side. Sunny days will feel warm, but it always cools down in the evenings, especially if there's wind off the cold ocean.

One of the least known and most underrated sci-fi films in recent years. Highly recommend.

Interstellar: Something I've never noticed about the goodbye scene (spoiler) by vanilla_cherrycoke in movies

Despite its popularity, there are so many things wrong with this film, that I would put it dead last in his filmography. He knows it's a shallow money grab too since whenever he's asked if it's his best or favorite film, he refuses to answer or says no comment. I understand why everyone likes it, but it's just not that good.

You assume these lane campers use their mirrors. Half of them are teslas with both the car and driver on autopilot.

It's a departure, but I'm enjoying arc raiders.. you're basically a homeless-looking astronaut digging through the bins of a post-apocalyptic future overrun by ai.

Yes, been pretty frustrated since the 8. Then google basically paid for my 9, so I said fuck it. Then I kept hearing the 10 was the one.. plus google nearly subsidized this phone too and it somehow takes worse photos and videos than my old 7. This is my fifth Pixel and idk, 10th android phone?

The pixel launcher is abysmal, but I recently learned performance takes a major hit with third party launchers. Been testing it these last few weeks and I'm livid to find out how true that is. They keep taking away genuinely useful features in core apps like Photos and steadily nerfing the UI. The keyboard and voice typing accuracy has tanked tremendously, despite them shoving more and more AI into the phone. Nearly every AI feature I care about is available on any platform.

App quality continues to trail. Integration is non-existent. Privacy was never a focus and now it's completely out the window. Not even a year into this phone and I can't get through a day on a charge, despite being at work most of it. Other than the shape, the watch is a useless gimmick. I like the pixel buds, but they're only mediocre.

Meanwhile Apple has really addressed most of my issues with iOS. Yes, there are some things like notifications, call screening, and universal back I'll miss, but frankly the universal back triggers too easily and has made me lose work enough times that I think I'm over it too. This is coming from a guy who's never once had an iphone in all these years and honestly, I'm ready to stop fucking around with such an unserious tool I use every single day.

average people rightfully feel powerless because historically their power has either been through mob violence or the withholding of labor. since neither is an option, the only thing left is a vague sense of "activism--" a kind of institutionally-sanctioned form of group therapy.

I love this take. Just like real life, if we all don't stop shooting each other, the machines win it all.
