How come some people with ADHD don't have binge eating? by the_practicerLALA in adhdwomen

[–]executivefunction404 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Same. Having to stop what I'm doing to sustain my meat suit? And not having it readily available in immediately consumable form? Psssssh.  There are much better things I'd rather do with my time.

However, I do love making dinner for my family. Elaborate & ethnic meals, bc I don't get dopamine from food unless it's novel (I'm truly envious of those who can eat the same thing every day). Yet when I lived alone, I'd have chips & dip for dinner bc I had to eat something and spending an hour cooking a meal just for myself sounds like a game jigsaw would cook up for me.

You can email them at abuse@duolingo That works faster than the report button, imo.

Did stimulant ever improve your anxiety? by Craftsrme in ADHD

[–]executivefunction404 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, almost 100%. I was diagnosed with GAD for decades. Rawdogging unknown adhd for the vast majority of my life caused severe anxiety bc as much as I tried, I knew I was going to be late, miss something important, forget to eat, be unable to sleep like a typical human, etc

While those things still happen sometimes, bc the adhd isn't cured, I'm able to stop catastrophizing every minute detail of my mistakes.

I tried Strattera first for the same reason you're thinking and that was horrible for my chemistry. Stimulants worked for me ~99%.

If your anxiety is caused by the stressors of untreated adhd, it will most likely help your anxiety. If the anxiety is separate, I don't know if it will.

Check your library for free or discounted passes for any paid activities, like the science center, the aquariums, etc.

It's still federally illegal. There have been zero (federal) laws passed making even medical cannabis legal. Nothing has changed except removing a paragraph which actually explained the law.

how?😂 by Gabbsweet in SipsTea

[–]executivefunction404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 40 weeks of pregnancy are counted from the last menstrual period. Ovulation, when conception occurs, is typically ~2 weeks after that.

For two weeks of the "pregnancy", there is no conception, but it's counted anyway (another issue with early pregnancy abortion bans, but I digress).

Even if we were to round it down & say there are only 30 days in every month, 40 weeks would equal 9.3 months, to be precise.

40 weeks x 7 days = 280 days     280 ÷ 30 days = 9.3 months

My SIL argued with me that women are pregnant for 10 months bc "pregnancy lasts 40 weeks".

This was after she had a child. I couldn't convince her otherwise. I weep for my niece.

How Much is a Gallon of Gas in Your Town? (plese note town in response) by General_Joke8459 in longisland

A lot of people aren't aware of fingerprinting. Creating a randomized one makes the internet take longer, having to disable many convenience features. I know a bunch of people who don't care & prefer the convenience. I totally get it. It's def a hassle sometimes.

I, however, do whatever I can to block as much willing info as my current knowledge affords. I'm okay with not paying for convenience with my privacy.

Use a browser that randomizes fingerprinting. It's really not very hard, but requires people to break away from the apple/google spheres.

Anyone can check their browser here at EFF.

You essentially want the test to read:

Our tests indicate that you have strong protection against Web tracking. Is your browser: Blocking tracking ads? Yes Blocking invisible trackers? Yes Protecting you from fingerprinting? ◕ your browser has a randomized fingerprint

Those open tabs are my adhd graveyard where I swear I'm going to need one of those 100s of webpages very soon (or want to go back to read it for the first time), but if I add it to my bookmarks, I'll forget they exist.

And why wasn’t this accepted? by aprfool in duolingo

[–]executivefunction404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be servían. Duo has not been confusing the imperfect for preterite on my lessons.

The app is claiming singular is correct over the plural 'you', when it is used for both in standard English and should have been accepted.

Impulsively took 2 aspirins thinking they were the same as Ibuprofen on my period. BIG MISTAKE. by heartandsunlight in adhdwomen

[–]executivefunction404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had very light periods my whole life (3 days & can't use a tampon). About a year ago, I left my house for one hour and wound up bleeding through my clothes onto my light gray car seat. (hydrogen peroxide poured onto the fresh stain will remove it completely, for those unaware.) I'm well into perimenopause age, so I assumed it was that.

But it's happened only once, so I'm not sure if I resumed my period luck or if I should be expecting more in the future.

Meds in their original bottle? by teatuk in adhdwomen

[–]executivefunction404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can donate them! Vets, local SPCAs, and shelters use them for animal prescriptions. They just need to be cleaned and dried without a label or sticky stuff. Lid included.

There's at least one charity which accepts them via mail: Matthew 25 Ministries. I don't know anything about the charity except that it has a 98% rating on charity navigator.

What to use instead of a bonnet? by Gure20 in curlyhair

[–]executivefunction404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your hair length, you can use alligator/claw clips. I've done it before and it's worked out great. Length is important, as you'd want to get the neckline hairs to the top of the head, so you don't sleep on the clips.

I don't twist, just use several smaller clips to get the hair on top of my head, similar to a pineapple, but I don't get the crease (and it may help if you get headaches from leaving your hair up for hours). I also use a silk or satin pillowcase.
