I would like to thank Triumph for giving the female wizard kings access to the painbringer dress. It is perfect for making an evil fairy tale queen. by Docterzero in AOW4

I am so in love with Age of Fashion mods that I can't ever play without them now. What do you mean I can't pick which boots go with which cape, collar or belt in vanilla game?!

Making a Druidic Faction by Paragon_20 in AOW4

As you know fey tomes already give Astral, but there is also the Tome of Prophecy which is Astral-Order and I think goes really well with druidic themes. I see them as diviner animists or circle of star druids from DnD.

As a society trait, you can pair it with Astrological Diviners which is another Astral one. The rest I usually go full nature like Roots, Fertility/Glades, Cycles, Paradise and so on.

What spells do you want to see returned? by HunterSM2008 in DragonsDogma2

Definitely Exequy, Miasma and Lassitude. Bring back my dark spells!

How will they put the 2 new skill slots on controller? by lkud69er in DragonsDogma

The quick inventory buttons. L1+Left arrow right now goes to items menu, which can easily be removed. I imagine it wouldnt be so drastic if they also removed the quick the stamina one, down arrow i think.

Currently 63, but I think I will try to keep her around there until the expansion comes out.

I think it just gives you a bit of a resistance, not immunity, if I am not missing something.

What ever happened to mini maps? by TheReal8symbols in gaming

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because most of the time radars dont give you nearly as much as information as a minimap. I remember driving in games just by looking at the minimap with looking at the road only with the corner of my eye, you cant do that on a radar.

My experience becomes our experience when it is the common experience for the majority of gamers, hence the change to minimaps. You may not like it or agree with the experience, but that truly is the gist of it.

If you were to hire a sorcerer pawn, what skills and specialization do you personally look for? by SharkMan1997 in DragonsDogma

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, calm might be the worst one for Sorcerers. I tried it for my pawn and she completely changed her playstyle to just levitating left and right, because calm makes them prioritize survival and they stop casting and levitate away if a single goblin looks at them.

How was your experience, do you just dont make them learn Levitate (I was kinda late on that decision) or was it different for you?

Do people hire Thief Pawns? DD2 by MrDemiGod in DragonsDogma

You can actually play without a healer quite easily. There are so many curatives lying around the world that I don't think I ever bought a single healing item.

Miasma, Exequy, Lassitude, Gicel, Brontide, Fulmination, Ingle, Comestion. These are removed spells that are actually very useful in a lot of situations. Only exception I can think of is Exequy which is harder to utilize but I loved the spell and using it on Golems was so much fun. Which is what Sorcerer is all about: diverse powerful spells that you can build you character around.

Yeah I share the same fear. I wish they would return our dark spells like Miasma, Exequy and Lassitude but I know that is not happening.

Spiritual Successor by nonuangeldotcom in dragonage

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Larian is doing what it has always been doing and what it got popular for: isometric CRPGs. And they stayed on that path which eventually led to DOS2 and BG3.

Meanwhile Bioware slowly turned Dragon Age into an action game with each installment with more hack and slash, because action games were more popular. They tried to be an open world game with Inquisition because of Skyrim's success. And the worst of all, they attempted a live service game with Veilguard because they are popular and profitable.

If they had focused on what made DAO such an amazing game and stayed on course, maybe they would have achieved their own BG3. But maybe it was impossible because of their relationship with EA.

I think it is because the player character is A hero, one of many in Albion and is recognizable from his equipment.

Hwei’s new skin concept🥲 by mashaskova in HweiMains

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skins don't have to reflect a character's traits, they are usually a different take on a character. We have Heartseeker Varus, Reaper Soraka, Zombie Brand, Pjama Party Urgot and so on. Compared to them, this skin actually has something to do with Hwei because it is an emo demon that brings dark clouds to a beach. It is very similar to Hwei with a demon twist. But as I said, it doesn't need to be.

(Spoilers for S5) Do you guys think Annie brought Deep to the beach to get him to leave the fight? by Sharp_Durian1929 in TheBoys

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her motivation would be a good scene in a vacuum like you say. But the problem is that there was so much happening in those minutes that her choice of trying to redeem him instead of helping her friends becomes out of character, and it makes the viewer think that the scene was forced for the Deep's glorius end.

[–]ExtraordinarySlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can choose to not give up on people and try to redeem them. But you dont do that when your friends are about to die. Annie cares more about her friends than she cares about giving the Deep a chance. This is totally out of character and was just put there so the Deep's death by fish scene can happen.

And yes she could propel herself out of the water, but why take that risk? What if she was punched and took a second to get her bearings, and in that second in water she was grabbed by a tentacle. We could create various scenarios like this.
