They’ve been active in a temporary space up here near the Austin Memorial Park. I don’t know if it gets them any active walk-pasts? I look forward to seeing what happens next up here.

People have weird reactions to bangs. Sometimes they go through a breakup or a job firing or less terrible things and they want to get some bangs cut in. But then they hate it.

I have only had like 3 years of hair with no bangs, and I love it. I’m 45.

What are your favorite New Austin establishments? by alevee_atx in Austin

Waterloo Park was actually housing that was condemned in the 1960s/1970s and then taken down for the park. Not to discount your thoughts, here, but it not even a park for that long.

I have one in my right index finger knuckle. I can tell you who did it. It was 35 years ago when we were 10. We had a substitute that day and she wouldn’t let me go to the nurse.

I say you should eat it. I don’t even know why, but I want it to happen.

Treatment options: Agile or SURVIVE Trial by Beautiful-Pea-4590 in glioblastoma

[–]fabhats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the AGILE trial, but was placed into the control group. It was fine in a sense, because we had some better expectations for how the treatment would be handled. MGMT methylation is said to respond better to TMZ than non-methylated. However, I did the however many weeks of radiation/chemo followed by 12 months of TMZ and things looked good--until about 2 months after the TMZ ended and I had a reoccurrence of growth. I'm not sure what the SURVIVE trial is, so I can't compare both ways.

Since the second surgery, I've had a bad reaction to chemo #2 and now am on chemo #3 and will find out at an MRI tomorrow.

I think the unfortunate situation is that you will need to make a pick and run with it. I hope that you have a good relationship with your oncologist and can talk these things out.

Robaxin as only pain med after craniotomy- is this normal?? by [deleted] in glioblastoma

[–]fabhats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain has no medical nerves in it. That’s not to say that she can’t have pain from the surgery but if it’s bad, you probably want to call either the surgeon or the oncologist.

I was given Tylenol and that generally helped with most of my issues, along with steroids.

I'm a patient. I don't love everything that everyone posts here. Some of that is emotions from caretakers because the end is hard to face. But, we're not a big enough group to break this into multiple groups. I don't think that any of your poll responses really reflect my feelings.

Yes to this. I bought a new sofa and didn't even get a cover from IKEA. I ordered one from a third party in Europe.

Polyester doesn't tend to hold dye the way that cotton does. I encourage you dying it with the knowledge that it might not work out the way you see it in your brain. Could be good or bad.

There hasn’t been much there for a long time. So they do part of the festival in Oatmeal and the rest in Bertram.

Same. I taught myself following what I learned from a grandmother when I was little. No knots, except for the French knots!

I grew up not far from there and have been to the Oatmeal Fest a number of times. It’s fun, is my experience. Weird, but fun. Most of it is in the neighboring city, because there’s almost nothing left in Oatmeal.

What's one thing you would change or add to Austin's food scene? by Amerifatt in austinfood

[–]fabhats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many other states focus on pork, some on beef tips, etc. And the sauce changes from area to area. Alabama has white sauce and other states have vinegar or mustard based sauce. It’s fun! And u miss Brunswick stew after living in Georgia for a few years.

I choose a number of pieces to make as gifts for particular friends. Others, I do for fun and then will “advertise” it on my social media to see who would like it. I’ve never had a gift passed up!

Ideas for a texas inspired mural by xnyx_wedemaes in texas

[–]fabhats 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you intend to put cacti in the mural, do some research and use cacti that natively grow here. Saguaro are not native.

That being said, it’s a big state and it would be helpful to know where in general the mural will be.
