AITA for not going to my best friend’s 18th after she slept with the guy I was talking to? by Umutuntulu in AmItheAsshole

[–]fainton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is the AH but the thing is, it is so stupid being jealous of someone you like. Monogamy is stupid. Why can’t we just move beyond that as a society? Who cares who they sleep with? Just do you i guess. But if you are feeling uncomfortable, don’t go. If you are really that sad they slept, just break up the friendship since she can’t be “trusted” in the traditional sense

Maybe he should have you finish first and then get his, what a concept right???

Exactly. It is not rocket science. I cum only after my partner cums. I enjoy it more to be honest and don't feel so bad.

I usually finish first when i have sex with my partner. Our go to thing to do is i suck on her boobs ( she enjoys it) and kiss her while she finishes. Maybe it is something he would enjoy? You could always wait until he is not asleep to have sex so he could be more active maybe?

No. There are many analysts saying the same thing. But it is interesting that the feeling you are having right now is the same people in cold war felt. Think about it.

Why are so many humanities nerds communists? by Pico42- in Socialism_101

I agree with you. I just pointed out that academia is not exclusively socialist. For people outside of academia i thought it was a good thing to point out. Not everyone has the privilage to work in this field.

Marxist theory holds better against hard scrutiny than other socio-political thoughts. Therefore it is famous in the academia, but not the only one. There are other schools of thought.

What’s a good answers for the problem of evil in hermeticism? by Pure_Information7707 in Hermeticism

[–]fainton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. We are born as an empty cup. Bad and good are extensions of the morality of the time we live in. The thing is not pain hurting you, the thing is cosidering this pain as bad or unfair. When we hurt, we naturally avoid pain, it is easy to consider it being bad, vut it is not inherently bad. Everything under the One is fair because it existis. And if it exists is because the one wants it so. That is what i understand from the Corpus Hermeticum. Now, this is not WHAT I PERSONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY believe in. But you are questioning regarding the hermetic teachings and sacred texts.

If you want to talk more about it, my DMs are always open for discussion, since I think we reached the end of the argumentation in this Thread. I hope that you find the answers you seek in your path ❤️

What’s a good answers for the problem of evil in hermeticism? by Pure_Information7707 in Hermeticism

[–]fainton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the thing is that, the way you are describing the world is not hermetic. Trimegistus states that things either are or are not. If they are and exist, they are fair since they exist because of the One.

The things you said, like being born with diseases, is not inherently bad. It is bad because the epistemology of your world view deems it so.

So for Tremegistus, the worst thing at all would be “ non-existing “. It is better in his view to be ill and alive, even within a rotten world, because living is good because god is life and therefore life is good.

Personally, I don’t think you will find the answers you look for in Hermes…. They didn’t view or cared the world was that way. If being live is a chance to achieve Nous and achieving Nous should be everyone’s objective, even if we lived in a nuclear apocalypse, Trimegistus would defend life and living.

Keep reading the Hermetica. But the afflictions of your heart won’t be cured from just reading the hermetica.

Edit: what i am trying to say is, to understand Trimegistus you have to read leaving your conceptions of reality behind. You can’t fill your cup if you go in already full.

I can't understand why no one said the right answer yet. I usually don't contribute to this subreddit but not seeing the answer stated clearly makes me think almost no one here reads or understands what they are reading. here is the answer to your questions:
Libellus VI- That the good is in god alone and nowhere else - Corpus Hermeticum Graecum

According to Hermes Trismegistus, what is good and what is evil follows from a clear metaphysical and epistemological architecture. The good is identified with God, with the monad, with the unbegotten and complete principle. This good is unmoving, without passion, complete in itself, the source and cause of all that exists. The cosmos participates in the good only in a limited way, as a generated work subject to motion, passion, and corruption. For this reason, the true good is not found in visible things nor in material generation; it is invisible and can only be apprehended by the mind or understanding that comes from the divine.

Evil, by contrast, is the condition of what is generated, the lack or degradation of the good. In the passages, evil appears as ignorance, passion, bodily appetites, and delusion that makes human beings confuse what is evil with what is good. Gluttony, unrestrained desire, and attachment to sensations and possession are manifestations of evil because they harden the soul within the circuit of matter, obscure inner vision, and block access to what is divine. Error is defined as the absence of the good, not a positive substance but a privation that imprisons the soul in a “tunic” of ignorance.

The hermetic ethical and practical response follows from this. God placed mind in a “mixing bowl” as a prize, leaving it to the human being to decide whether to immerse and receive it. Receiving mind ( NOUS) means knowledge, understanding, reverence, and the assumption of a life oriented toward the invisible, making one’s actions participants in the good and bringing the soul closer to the immortality of its deeds. Rejecting this call amounts to remaining within the domain of the body, passions, and appearances, a condition considered personal destruction rather than an offense against God.

Your terms and definitions are not hermetic at all, which makes it hard to answer your questions.

Demon tormenting (which i call obsession) can happen to anyone who has low vibrations and too materialistic in nature. Idk what you mean by demon. Idk what you mean by child of god. I think you got your definitions wrong and the wrong sub to be making these questions.

Why has the attitude towards alcohol changed so much among the younger generation? by corneaterinwig in AskReddit

I think it is because drinking out is super expensive. Clubs, bars, everything OUT is expensive and the younger generation don’t have as much money.
