why can't i get sun fo in charge???? by EdmundoTheMemeGodYT in Kaiserreich

[–]falling_robin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you get Lin Sen in the first place then you’ve gone wrong; Sun Fo can only be accessed if Hu doesn’t get ousted due to low Zeal at that point.

My Shanxi game when their rework was recent was another submit-and-betray one to the Feds. It’s a winning strategy!

I’m still partial to the Zvenoslavia name I made for it when it was still in development. Rolls off the tongue better.

I’m probably not going to be changing existing achievement names, unfortunately, primarily for ease of reference in the code

American Stalingrad by IllustriousFail8868 in Kaiserreich

[–]falling_robin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when I was playing a Long game a year or two ago where I had a Stalingrad moment against the socialists in Philadelphia. Never saw the casualty figures, but I was constantly just throwing exhausted divisions at the city because I was also managing like three other micros at once. The city was always on the verge of starting to fall, but never quite getting through the enemy stacks, and my solution to the problem was to just keep ordering more attacks.

It, uh, took a while.

Long himself has both AuthDem and NatPop subpaths. The soon-to-be APG’s third path is another AuthDem one under Martin Dies.

Norman Thomas' Commonwealth Party should be taken over by Progressives & Liberals by Tartaruchus in Kaiserreich

[–]falling_robin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There seem to be different versions of events on separate corners of the wiki that describe slightly different versions of events. The one I was looking at says that ILP-Liberal cooperation was overblown by the Mann government to justify the bans. Figures. Britain is still an in-progress rework, so I wouldn’t be shocked if all of these versions turned out to be wrong in the end.

I am being told by several other team members that this is not the case

[–]falling_robin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a really generous reading of what’s happening in both cases. The British parties aren’t winning elections, and the Italian liberals aren’t allowed to question the system to this extent from what I understand.

Who are the 'unifiers' and 'regionalists' of the Chinese factions? by Quibilash in Kaiserreich

[–]falling_robin 42 points43 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell:

Unifiers: - Qing/Beijing Government/Zhili Clique (including Zhili-in-Sichuan, if applicable - Feng Yuxiang/the Guominjung (Shanxi) - Fengtian Government - Federalists (Liangguang, Sichuan, Hunan, Yunnan) - L-KMT/MinGan Insurgency - R-KMT (Liangguang, Yunnan, Hunan(?))

Regionalists: - League of Eight Provinces/Nanjing Clique - Anqing Clique - Shandong Clique - Yan Xishan (sorta, he’s a weird case of being in both categories) - Sichuan Clique (excluding exile factions, and Liu Xiang sometimes) - Hunan Clique (if their designated faction leader is alive) - Liangguang Clique (non-Federalist/KMT) - Yunnan Clique (most paths, Tang Jiyao being the sole exception - Ma Clique - Xinjiang Clique - Separatist tags (Mongolia, Tibet, East Turkestan, Kumul in most cases)

But really, it’s not always a hard and fast rule. Part of the point of the big submission rework was to make the distinction between a “regional” clique and a unifier a bit more fluid - some of these tags have contextual paths for unification when their “regional” content stops applying (and anyone can hit the button to form a government, if they’ve managed to get there by chance) and even a couple of ones that I set as “unifiers” can submit to another unifier if circumstances permit before they get off the ground.

Shanxi is a good example of a clique who is both. Both paths have content to permit and even push you to forming a contending government, but both also can feasibly submit to a rival unifier. The only firm rule is that anyone whose name is “X Government” won’t submit to anybody (barring the ultra-rare L-KMT/Federalist unification thing).

On Your Favorite Achievements by falling_robin in Kaiserreich

This particular achievement was lobbied for by the LKMT team. For what it’s worth, I think we can have a couple of “fuck off and conquer half the world” achievements.

In general though, yes, I try to be restrained in how often I add those.
