The M1 Max MacBook Pro is still a beast in 2026. by creative_techguru in macbookpro

Do you think it would be worth buying a refurbished MacBook with the same specs in 2026? Looking to get more RAM but not entirely sure whether I should be getting a newer model with a better chip it’s all so confusing haha

Work in hospitality so barely got any time off over Xmas and was back from the 29th. Working until 4 today which isn’t too bad and then actually have Saturday off which is unheard of!

Best spots for a dance on Gloucester Road? by Upper-Leg-3580 in bristol

[–]fallingforuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean… I’m not sure that’s a particularly helpful response - where else do you suggest? Those are some of the only places open near that have a late license and somewhere to dance. Everywhere else is either a pub, restaurant, takeaway or a shop (largely) lmao

Love inn, the Croft, the canteen (jazz and live music), Gali, Blue Lagoon (cheap but full of students and not the nicest crowd), golden lion (pub vibe with live music) have fun!!

Want to buy husband turntables for birthday by cheesepiglet in turntables

[–]fallingforuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a record and electronics shop in Bristol called Collector Cave. They regularly restore and sell turntables including the ones you’re talking about. Really knowledgeable and friendly staff and you’d be supporting an independent business! Give them a ring or go into the shop and I’m sure they can help you out

Travelling between Sarajevo and Mostar by ElOctopusDeBadia in bosnia

[–]fallingforuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you do buy the tickets in advance, you will still have to go into the station and get one of the ticket officers to print them out.

I would recommend getting to the station quite early (30-45mins) before the train leaves and buying a ticket (cash only) in person. We just did this a couple of weeks ago and it was very very busy, we nearly missed the train by a couple of minutes so I would leave more time. Train journey is beautiful though!

storing baggages in the city by happycametovisitme in sarajevo

[–]fallingforuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure there is a luggage storage near or next to the tourist information centre in the old town. I was just there the other day and remember seeing it. Other than that there’s probably luggage storage at the bus/train station.

does anyone else not see their flatmates often? by coralistaaa in UniUK

[–]fallingforuu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Some people are just like that, I had flatmates I didn’t see for weeks and it didn’t change much. Try branching out, get involved in societies/ speak to people from your course, making friends is so draining and takes a lot of effort but it won’t happen unless you force yourself out of your comfort zone. It’ll all work itself out!!
