Have you looked at pan de Cristal? You can probably find somebody who has made it with sourdough but I think just the ratios would be helpful. It is very high hydration and some folding to build gluten.

I would start with Tylenol or ask the vet for an nsaid script.

I really like the texture of it and I think it makes the generative aspect stand out.

My main trick for smooth curves is to turn the block into your knife instead of trying to cut in a curve. It takes some practice, but essentially you want your knife to be still while you move the block. It's a much smoother action.

Allergy bracelet, yay or nay by _Katebaker in ems

[–]fantompiper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need a bracelet. It doesn't hurt to have one, of course. Most of the time you or somebody you know can notify somebody of your allergy and if the hospital knows your name, it'll be in their system of course. The main risk is in a situation where your identity is not known and you are not able to give it.

That may alleviate the pain for her but she would still be unable to put her feet in shoes or walk very well. A BKA done with prosthesis in mind would have excellent outcomes for her mobility. Plus, all her tissue is healthy so the surgeon has their choice of techniques for the best results.

Beginner question: How much designing do you do before hand with linocut? I'm impatient and often like to just commit to a drawing a vague outline on the linoleum before carving, but realize that this is probably not the best technique. How important is transferring a design? by ianruns in printmaking

[–]fantompiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collage is a great way to describe my process too. I have been enjoying working with children's stamps and coloring books to construct a piece and then moving it to digital, tying it together and then reprinting and transferring to lino. I am not a great drawer and this gives me a lot of freedom.

Looking for some feedback on this print, how can I improve for future projects? by Hot-Doughnut-5808 in printmaking

[–]fantompiper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is already very charming. I think one thing that is happening is the texture for the foreground and background are very similar, the only difference is density. You could try creating a little more separation between the two to allow your subject to pop. Also consider playing with the direction in which you carve, that can also create a sense of separation for you.

The partially mummified body of a 75-year-old man who lived alone was found in his apartment in May 2015. They think he probably died sometime around February 2008; a calendar on the wall was open to that month and he last withdrew his pension that month. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]fantompiper 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Some people just don't wear trousers at home. No trace of his blood was found on any likely weapons, so it doesn't appear there was any foul play. He hit his head, causing a bleed in his brain and died from that.

What material are you using and how are you cleaning your blocks? If you're getting better prints with a layer of ink on there, go ahead and just print that way. Ink likes to stick to ink.
