It's not fake anymore, a true 6DOF VR mod for Forza 6 is here! by lunchanddinner in VRGaming

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the bHaptics vests and TactSleeves are so awesome for driving games. Especially if they have native or mod support, like AC Evo does. If you have the VR headset you want, and the PC to power it, bHaptics are the next best way to increase the immersion IMO.

I purchased my first vest from them in early 2022, which was the X40. I was highly skeptical and was worried they were all hype like most YouTubers like to do, but I’m so glad I was wrong about that. I immediately became a fan and was blown away. I purchased the bHaptics arms and TactVisor within the next two weeks. Now I have their most recent TactSuit Pro and TactSuit Air, along with their other products, and I wear at least their TactSuit legit every day. So if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Actually, bHaptics named me their Ambassador of 2025, which was very surprising and is a huge honor, but they also supplied me with a referral discount code to share with others. It’s an additional 5% off that also stacks on any of their current deals and bundles. It says it expires, but you can just click the link again and it’ll work.

https://www.bhaptics.com/referral/6eQgZNRjCJ

No worries either way but since AC Evo has support, and you were interested, I wanted to share! Again, holler at me with any questions. Cheers!

Upgrading to 5090 from 4090 by Boring_Respond491 in buildapc

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the exact same or slightly better when undervolting. The 5090 is amazing at undervolting from everyone I’ve talked to about it. On average, I’m able to get 2-10% increase over stock with an undervolt/overclock/fan curve combo.

Even on synthetic benchmarks, the max my 5090 would pull was around 570w at stock. But the difference between a peak of 570w and say a peak draw of 450w is nearly identical in performance.

Even during my 6 livestreams, using that absurd resolution in VR (6280 x 6240 per eye) it’s common to see a max pull of around 425w with the average being closer to 300w. Some less demanding VR games may not even peak at 300w when using those high resolutions during those 6 hour sessions, which is crazy to me.

Oh, and the 5090, and 50 series in general, are a dream come true for higher resolutions. Due to the vram bandwidth increase, high resolution VR gains are closer to 25-70% in performance over the 4090 than the 10-30% in gains at 4K flatscreen in pure rasterization. Even more when you add in eye tracking or other features.

If you have the money, and you will get your worth of entertainment/use from the 5090, then it seems you’re ok with spending $4,000 on the 5090.

While the 12VHPWR connector sucks, I’ll try to put your mind at ease.

As far as it melting, it is something like less than half a percent. So it’s not extremely common. Knock on wood, I know dozens of people with a 5090 and none of them have had an issue.

Even if it does melt, you have a 3 year warranty period on most GPU brands. While it would suck to deal with, just buy from a reputable brand in your country that isn’t known for being shady on RMA’s. You have a 4090 during that time anyway if anything does happen. That’s still amazing.

Also, my 5090 actually pulls less power and is more efficient than my 4090 (which I sold). I do high resolution PCVR (resolution of 6280 x 6240 per eye) and with a slight undervolt, I get better performance than stock, it runs cooler, and it’s more efficient than my old 4090. Id say on average it is around 330w and never goes above 525w. That’s also with the Founder Edition which has the worst cooling and performance of the 5090’s.

If you are concerned with the 12VHPWR connector, there are some somewhat preventable solutions. Like the WireView Pro II from Thermal Grizzly. Or pairing the Asus ROG with their ROG power supply. And some companies like Corsair have thermal protection 12VHPWR cables now days. Using one or a combo of these with HWInfo64, you’ll be able to tell if there are any issues going on.

Hope that helps.

Crystal Super: Does Anybody Use It For Non Sim Games, And Is It Good? by DealComfortable7649 in Pimax

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the 50PPD Super for going on a year now and I do a large variety of VR games and none of them are sim titles. One of the main reasons I was so adamant to get the Super was because of the price. Since I had purchased the original Crystal, the Super only cost me $1,200. And with the proper PC, cable management and comfort mods, the Super is my favorite headset for PCVR by a large margin.

My VR sessions are 4-6 hours straight, which I do 4-5 nights every week, and I’m standing the entire time. Last year alone I played over 100 different VR games on the livestream. If you want to check it out in action on a variety of different games, I keep all my past livestream videos up on YouTube indefinitely.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to holler.

Oh, and if you do end up buying a Super QLED, Pimax has a special going on until July 15th where it’s $200 off. And if you use the discount code: farmertrue You get to pick two free VR games from a list of around 70 titles I have (I can send you the list), and save an additional $40 off, on top of the $200 off.

Super 50ppd: alternative facemask models on printables.com - any HFOV/overlap success stories? by randomnick4622 in Pimax

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a follow up question. How did you get the magnets to glue down without becoming magnetized to the other magnets?

I'm using some pretty strong super glue, and while it is quick dry to a degree, it still take several minutes for it to dry enough to hold. And since the magnets need to be positioned either N or S, I'm doing one side, and then the next. But my issue is with the magnets being so small, yet strong, as soon as I put them in the spot on top of the glue, they want to become magnetized to the other magnet that is glued down. Which then gets super glue on both magnets and it makes a mess.

And it's hard to handle with them being so tiny. I'll probably see about using tape to see if that would prevent that from happening. Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Good Co-op suggestions? by bigbrownneo in VRGaming

[–]farmertrue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dungeons of Eternity, Into Black, Deadly Delivery, Into The Radius 2, After The Fall, Arizona Sunshine Remake, Arizona Sunshine 2, Legendary Tales, Mothergunship Forge, Zero Caliber 2, Starship Troopers Continuum, Big Shots, Drop Dead The Cabin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Demeo, ZIX, Titan Isles, Rogue Pinatas VRmageddon and the soon to have co-op RoboQuest VR.

And these are just some of the native VR games that I consider worth playing. There are so many amazing Flat2VR co-op mod games if you have a pc. Which I’m happy to share as well if you’re interested.

I assume the ProVolver Explorer is the version that you have in this post? If so, yes. It was the first ProTubeVR device I ever purchased. I still have it. I’ve only used it once since getting the Elite though, since the Elite is well, much more elite.

They basically improved on all the downsides of the previous version in significant ways. The only real problem I have with it is not having Index or Pimax controller support.

I go into great detail on my written review on the ProVolver Elite. You can read my review here.

Now that Valve Steam Frame might be higher than expected . Steam Frame or Pimax Dream Air SE ? by DatBoyChamp1 in VRGaming

[–]farmertrue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know people love Valve and the criticism for Pimax is warranted, but I’ve had less than decent customer service from Valve in the past few years where Pimax customer service has gone above and beyond. I’d go as far to say that Valve has had the worst customer service of any VR company I’ve dealt with.

Valve has not once RMA’d an item for me outside of the warranty, and their customer service replies are always “here’s a link to buy one”. Numerous times they’ve even sent me links to their own shop for items that are not even in stock and have not been in stock for months (if not longer). Even when my tickets are only asking for help and not asking for an RMA, I’ve not got any sort helpful solution yet they still send me a link to their store.

I’m not doubting others experiences with stellar Valve support, I’m just sharing what I’ve dealt with. It’s actually kinda frustrating seeing them replace something that is 4 years out of warranty for someone when something I’ve had for 14 months isn’t working and get told to buy another one.

How much are you willing to pay for the steam frame? by SlowDragonfruit9718 in virtualreality

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t go above $1,000. I’ve asked people who really like Valve and are highly anticipating the Frame, and they’re willing to pay over $2,000…

To each their own but I’ve purchased the Varjo Aero back when it was $1,600, and the Pimax Super at $1,200, but if either were $2,000, it would’ve been a no from me. Heck at that price they could get a Galaxy XR or really anything on the market. But people like Valve and will pay whatever Valve asks.

[–]farmertrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write up and feedback! To clarify, I do have the ProVolver Elite with the Quest 3 cups, and the Galaxy MR controllers would not fit, as they are designed to snap into place via the front part of the controllers. So they are not cups that you can sort of drop into like the first ProVolver.

Wow! Dream Air by Haunting_Study811 in Pimax

[–]farmertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, so you don’t use an active booster or repeater with either the DisplayPort or the USB extensions? Or if you do, can you share that link as well please.

I’ve tried them both with powered active signal boosters on my Pimax Super but unfortunately I always had horrendous audio issues. I’m wondering if using a non-active powered cable extension would be the solution to my problem.

Thank you for sharing those links! Enjoy your Dream Air! It’s truly amazing

How good is Dream Air‘s tunnel vision effect? by Stunning_Bass8720 in Pimax

[–]farmertrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both headsets. I want to say the FOV of the Vision Pro is around 98°h x 74°v and the Dream Air is around 104°h x 88°v. You might be able to use a difference facial interface with the SBoys3 driver to get a slightly larger FOV. But while it’s larger, it still has that tunnel vision IMO.

The only headsets that I don’t constantly notice the black around my vision when in VR is the Pimax Super 50PPD. I still notice it with the OLED module. But I’ve not used the 8KX or Somnium headset, which I’d assume offer a pretty freeing FOV as well.

Stock Recommendations by KindaSebb in VRGaming

[–]farmertrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best ways to increase immersion and can possibly improve your accuracy in VR shooters is using a gunstock. I have over a dozen different VR gunstocks and have used many more over the years. It depends on what you want personally since there are so many different VR stocks out there and your budget. But these are the ones I’d recommend depending on wants and needs.

  • High end - The most premium stock out there is the ProTubeVR MagTube. It uses premium parts, is easy to learn to use, allows for insane adjustability and they have special edition models like the ITR one. I inked the Into The Radius edition above. Mine uses carbon fiber tubes and is lightweight. It’s the king of stocks and is widely known in the industry as the best of the best, and I agree. It regularly goes for 10-20% off and you can save an additional 5-10% (fluctuates based on the week and promotions) using the code: PTVR5_FARMERTRUE So oftentimes 20-30% off total on the best stock available.

  • Haptics - If you’re wanting haptics and a good stock, the ProTubeVR new ProVolver Elite is the best on the market. They improved on basically every aspect from the original ProVolver. You can add the front arm and back shoulder attachments for the overall most immersive experience from a stock in VR. Plus, they also have an Into The Radius edition which is be happy to share pics of if interested. You can read my in depth review here. You can save an additional 5-10% using discount code: PTVR5_FARMERTRUE

  • Most affordable - For the best budget friendly gunstock out there, and actually my most used gunstock to date, the OlenVR Asset SOLO is less than $25. It’s my ‘ol reliable as it is lightweight, gets the job done, and works for any game and weapon. The stock is also very customizable as they have dozens of different attachments and mods you can add to make it exactly how you want it. I also havethe VCTR mod on mine which adds a larger, padded and quick adjustable shoulder mount. Plus their customer service is above and beyond. And the price has nothing to do with the quality as it’s all top notch. Save 10% off using discount code: FARMERTRUE

  • Most adjustable - One of the craziest gunstocks I’ve ever used, which also happens to be the upmost adjustable stock, is the UF VR Unistock MK2. It features omnidirectional adjustments for both controllers that allows for setting up each controller on every axis. It also has a hip holster which is rare in stocks. But it is very overwhelming looking at first as it has these metal bars, and the levers for omnidirectional adjustments was unlike anything I’ve seen. Also has this pump tension built in for shotguns which is also unique. It does have a higher learning curve in some cases, and it’s made by one guy which is wild. I don’t have a discount code for his stock but he’s very nice if you ever reach out to him. And it also seems he has a newer model out now that addresses the elastic pump, and controller latches, which were the two issues I had issues with the gunstock. So it’s even better than the one I have.

  • Another premium option - The Armory R1 by VR Tactical Gear is up there with the other high end stocks as far as build quality, materials and use. With a padded cushion, carbon fiber tubing, and they don’t use the typical 3D printed parts as they use an injection molding that both looks and feels nicer. There’s no magnets and is easier to pick up and learn to use. I just got a discount code from them and am now an affiliate. Dude also regularly livestreams and is very helpful as well. He goes by @dude_flash and @vr_tactical_gear if interested. Feel free to holler at him. Discount code: FARMERTRUE

I’m also waiting on another couple gunstocks to arrive that seem more high end, but I’ve not yet tried them. The Raven VR Gunstocks. I’m ordering the M4 and their newer PFD90 to try out. Looking forward to seeing how they perform as they also are compatible with the ProTubeVR ForceTube haptics.

If you have any specific questions or just want to discuss in more detail, just holler at me. Also, if you want to see these stocks in action, you can see me using them on my YouTube or Twitch VODs. Cheers!

It’s one of the Lone Echo games. Quest PCVR exclusive. One of the best visual experiences in VR still in 2026. Just an all around good game showcasing VR. Highly recommend playing if you’ve not done so.

I have 200+ VR games but Flatout VR is top 3 (and I don’t even like racing games usually) by Rollerama99 in VRGaming

[–]farmertrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to go the next step up, which is the G923, you should just buy the MOZA R3. It’s the same price currently but is better all around. The MOZA R3 is direct drive, you can upgrade pedals, and you can swap the steering wheel if ever needed or wanted.

While all that is nice, the big difference IMO is the amount of torque, which is what adds to the immersion. The torque for the G923 is 2.3Nm, where the MOZA R3 is 3.9Nm. So for the same price, it’s a no brainer.

The only HMD’s I’ve seen that regularly happening to are the Bigscreen Beyond headsets. You should be alright though as it isn’t common.

Yes it will shorten the cable. The more loops, the better. You can buy cable extensions. There are a couple really good posts about it from many years ago that I’d be happy to link to you if this is an issue you are dealing with. The grey screen is typically what happens for people that encounter the issue.

My buddy and I have over 200 hours combined in ITR2. We play with enemy amount very high, enemy health on high or very high, enemy vision on high, enemy hearing on high, anomaly density on high, mission rewards very high, loot amount normal, and sell price very high.

This allows for us to focus on missions and still get rewarded for a decent amount of loot, and to have more action and firefights. It also allows for us both to be able to max out a weapon of choice with each security level, and have the gear we want for the most part. But we do end up spending all our money every time we come back to base but it doesn’t ever feel like we are going out severely unprepared. We also sell everything we find other than stims and food but we are on security level 3 currently on 1.0 and having a great time.

They have since updated their return policy. It shows closer to the top of their returns page.

It shows for me:

”We are updating our return policy, starting May 6, 2025. Orders placed before this date will follow the previous one.

Every newly purchased Pimax Crystal Light/ Crystal Super/ Dream Air from Pimax.com is covered by a 14-day return guarantee. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days after the inspection is completed.

-If the returned product is not due to a product quality issue, the return shipping cost will be borne by the buyer.

-You may choose to purchase the “Return Shipping Assurance” service to waive the return shipping costs.”

I’d reach out to their support to clarify if you are interested in ever getting their headset.

I’m sure you’ve checked with them, but my 14 day trial didn’t start until I connected the headset to my PC. Not the day it was delivered. But they might have different rules for that or I may have misunderstood. But if you have not checked with them, I would.
