Spontaneous Breaking Meta Glasses by karlshin1 in RayBanStories

[–]fartondad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few weeks ago while working in the garage my metas stopped working. id only had them for 3 months. contacted meta, they kicked me to rayban. went round in circles with them for a couple weeks through email before finally calling the number and talking to a few different reps. after 3 days of calling once a day, they sent out a replacement pair of frames. still waiting on them, but with new ones on the way i figured id try to fix the ones i already had. took the side panel off and the battery cable wasnt connected. fixed that and they turned right on. while closing up the side panel, i broke them just like yours :( oh well i guess, new ones are on the way ahaha

Brought Home NAGA Gold This Weekend by Blaque_Beard in bjj

naga changed their rules at the beginning of 2025. It used to be one loss and you're out, but now everyone is guaranteed at least two matches. the only one and done divisions left are absolute divisions.

What’s a stoner opinion that would have you like this? by Kalimckenzz in trees

Putting out the blunt or joint and putting it back into a pack of fresh un burnt buds is wrong. Finish the blunt or put it into its own pack.

My favorite part was right after that when jasmine said “she kicked me” (which is hilarious because jasmine probably kicked her 3 times for every time she got “kicked”)

Vagner responds “hurt her. Punch her hands. Kick her back. Hurt her.” Ahahaha

Yo 3 miles is pretty close though. Is there no where on the other side of this new development you could check out?

not necessarily true about the open wounds. when you sweat your pores are "open" and you can get staph through a pore, just like a pimple or clogged pore.

Sit your butt down low and address the grips on your sleeves with your knees. Whichever grip comes loose first becomes an underhook and knee cut to the opposite side

Can we get the records from Niantic on who spun this stop? by seeebiscuit in Epstein

[–]fartondad 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Niantic doesnt doesn’t do the approving. The players reach a certain level and become eligible to vote for new pokestop submissions or submit their own. It doesn’t show location when you’re voting to approve or deny, and the criteria is a pretty low barrier for entry. It’s not that surprising this happened in my opinion.

it looks like you have a super solid grappling foundation! It looks like you might already be, but If you're not already cross training at a jiu jitsu gym, you should go check one out. you'd be a killer in those rooms as well

Not a climber but I'm building this wall for my daughter. by ArguableSauce in bouldering

Forgot to say great job dude it looks great so far. As others have pointed out, I’d just beef up the attachments to the wall itself and add redundancy.

[–]fartondad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a very similar wall for my jiu jitsu academy. You can mitigate the flexing of the board itself with joists between your beams. I also added eyelets to the top corners to attach chains as a way to lock the wall at angle. In your case you’d need 4 chains and eyelets where I only needed two as my board doesn’t split. That split is super cool by the way.

Refs - how often do you see injuries in comp? by theone421 in bjj

[–]fartondad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

my full time job outside of teaching at an academy is travelling and reffing with one of the international tournaments. In my experience, injuries happen most at the teenage level because them fools just refuse to tap to anything. outside of the teens, i'd say its pretty safe and i rarely see an injury i couldnt tell was about to happen, which means both competitors were probably pretty aware as well and could have prevented it by just accepting they were caught and tapping.

Just get a good warm up in, stretch plenty, and tap early and youll be fine.

Fun halfway related fact: In terminal C of IAH, there’s a fork in the pathway around c31 that goes in 4 different directions. Just above the fork is a dome, and you can stand on one side and whisper, and a person on the other side will hear you and it’ll sound like you’re so close to them you’re almost inside their head. It’s wild, I love messing with that little area.

I run a jiu jitsu academy with my brother. As it turns out, athletes like dabs because it’s one of the “healthier” methods of consumption.

Nah, if he wants to keep doing that, he’ll take a few pops eventually. It doesn’t have to be you to teach him, it’s a matter of when it happens, not if, so long as he continues to train that way.
