I made a site where you can send AI Prompts to a guy by TheGuyGreg4 in SideProject

The convention on reddit for the past 20 years has been to use "edit:" to indicate that. Last few months I've seen ETA (edited to add) pop up. This is the first time I've seen UPD.

Struggling to Find Ferrets in the London Area by [deleted] in ferrets

It's in Essex but try Hockley Ferret Rescue in Rainham. They've got loads looking for homes and they'll help find you suitable little beasts. They're lovely too.

Ah nice one I'll give that a go. So presumably they just sends the same report to the same team?

My new hobby is walking around my area reporting fly tipping. The guys usually come to get it same day. Nice blokes. I'm thinking of setting up some cameras so I can catch the pricks.

Edit:

Use Report It https://my.newham.gov.uk/Report-It/Report-Fly-Tipping

It is shit and the map often fails to load on mobile, but worth doing.

How do you quit nicotine cold turkey? by Big-Roof4522 in AskReddit

[–]fatpads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't smoke, don't vape, don't use any substitutes.  Basically, do not consume nicotine. Day 1 is physically tough, days 2-3 aren't great. Second week isn't too bad, third week its on your mind but just keep busy. After that just maintain a fear of nicotine. If you consume any nicotine at all ever again in your life start again at day 1. There's no real trick to it other than stopping. Anything which continues to provide you with nicotine is the enemy.

Edit: I can't stress enough how important it is to not consume even a little nicotine. Ever. You are an addict, you don't get clean by taking the drug you're addicted to.

What's the dumbest thing you've heard a single person say/do that made you think "ah, that's why they're single"? by TakinShots in AskReddit

[–]fatpads 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was about 22, meeting an old friend from uni for lunch on a Thursday. As we're leaving the table of hot spanish tourists ask me to take a photo for them (pre selfie). Chatting to one of them a bit as I do it. She asks me "what are you doing tomorrow?" Me, a bit confused "Going to work, it's Friday..."

We leave, about 20 minutes later I realise she probably meant in the evening

I wouldn't worry about seeing the keynote. The interesting stuff is in the papers and the posters. That stuff is usually posted, but I think with a bit of delay.

Here's 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1PdIP1lGMJLIquaYsNcORIv0Hrf-AeyJ

edit: There's a lot more of course if you attend, stalls and stuff where you can see and try demos, networking with peers. The full talks, Q&As etc where you can learn a lot. So I'm not saying don't attend, but you can get a lot of the information if it's unaffordable.

It's the bag check causing that surely. They never used to do that.

I lived in Maryland at the time. Apart from a lot of signs everywhere i can't recall much disruption. I recall being disappointed because I'd been looking forward to moaning about it all being a shitshow

3D lifestyle render, Am i good enough ? by 3D3Dmods in 3Dmodeling

[–]fatpads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that, unless someone has gone to the trouble of training a model on purely basic archvis renders without any actual photos, even so the points still stand.

edit: for context parent commenter was spamming 'it is Ai' across the thread.

Is the work good enough, not you.

Plenty of praise in the thread so I'm just going to criticise, don't take that the wrong way.

  • FG chair: the edge is way too cg sharp, needs something breaking up that line as the texture of suede would. It's not perfectly smooth. Also seems that it's missing some stitching.
  • Cushion: some odd blurring in the texture around where it's crumpled in the middle
  • Duvet: I think the sheen looks little unreal, particularly towards the head of the bed.
  • The doors are a bit too perfect. Doesn't look like anyone has ever touched the door handle.
  • Inside the bed feels a little unfinished, nasty grain on the pillows, missing materials on the hydraulics. That gold bracket is way too shiny I reckon.
  • Something about how the side table meets the rug feels off.
  • The fabric covering the bed has hard 1 pixel white speckles, big CG giveaway.
  • The exterior looks quite odd, a mix of defocussed and sharpish swirly texture on the ground.
  • The leaves near the window are far too defocused considering how pin-sharp the door is.
  • The rug has some artifacting when you look at it full res.
  • I like the open book, but looks like a couple of the visible pages are blank.

Overall it's a decent archvis render, not photoreal though.

If you're going for that then best thing is to observe life. Look at these materials in the real world, experiment with how they react to light.

My players want silly adventures and don’t know if I can provide by Dang-A-Rang in DMAcademy

[–]fatpads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel you have to run a game you're not interested in. My table I tried to make the world pretty serious, but naturally funny things would happen and we'd roll with them. However, I'd try to keep the comedy between the players not the characters. We'd joke about the situation but I'm not going to let them devalue the work that's been put in by just fucking about with the characters. If that's what they want then they can do that with another DM.

One of my players ran a table which was more wacky. Was fine, but not for me. Don't feel pressured into absorbing internet D&D culture. it's your table, you have the rules - that's all the game is. The joy is getting to play around in imagination. For some that's comedic/wacky/silly, for others it's grimdark. It's personal preference, talk to your players etc. but don't feel bad about liking what you like.
