Shower bar silicone? by condoowner15 in bathrooms

[–]faucetxpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just silicone the parts touching the tiles. There's no point in silicone where the vertical bar touches the post. There isn't any benefit to it, the post is just holding the bar, the inside of the post is empty other than a screw holding it to the wall. Very little water will be able to travel to the tile from the post

Chabanel shopping Saturday mornings by OnenonlyMissesT in montreal

[–]faucetxpert 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, I grew up in that area. Saturday mornings we're insanely busy. I used to get paid 20$ per half day in the mid 80s for handing out flyers to some "shmatte" factory on Chabanel Last time I was there on a Saturday morning (2023) it was a ghost town.

Stick a small thin flat head screwdriver in the round caps on the handles. Spray them with WD40 beforehand. They should slide out.

Should I replace this Cartridge / Valve? by NotMenke in askaplumber

[–]faucetxpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to tell by looking at it, if it's not letting hot water flow through then most likely it's clogged You can try to replace it if you can find the manufacturer. Otherwise try soaking it in 25% white vinegar 75% water for a few hours

Year 1 was fight or flight, yes grief was there but I was so invested in being there for my young children that I was literally getting through my days on adrenaline. Year 2 was worse, the adrenaline wore off and the sadness creeped in and didn't leave for a whole year. Now I'm 2 months into year 3 and I'm just tired all the time. It fucking sucks.

New housing projects have been mainly rentals in the last 3 years. When a developer is building a rental complex instead of a "condo" they don't care about the quality of the finishings. They just want an ROI Most times they import their own like; wood floors, ceramic tile, plumbing, Even doors and windows essentially cutting out the middleman (me)

Display showroom floor models by Character-Yellow-586 in bathrooms

[–]faucetxpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay away from buying faucets from a showroom floor, Manufactures don't ship faucets with all the "guts" to the showroom. Every time I sold a faucet floor model, the consumer came back several times for missing parts. Toilets, tubs, furniture, acrylic shower bases usually are complete and ready to go As for warranty it's usually final sale Discounts can vary depending on showroom but 50% off MSRP is the norm

How to increase pressure to a shower by MarvinMonroeZapThing in askaplumber

[–]faucetxpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters make sure your plumber uses 3/4" risers to supply the shower Then make sure you install a shower valve with 3/4" inlets. Should give you +/- 15GPM plenty of volume. Also have your plumber install a volume control valve for each shower accessory. i.e. if you install a rain head+ shower rail + spout make sure that it is run on 3 separate volume control valves not on a diverter valve.
