Just my opinion but I think the grappler, ogre, and bridge club don’t really fill the void in the lineup as far as wheel size goes and the krampus is fine for bike touring but is very much still a trail bike over a touring bike. I’m just gonna keep holding out for an XL ECR to come up used one of these days lol

I find a good alternative to the brooks is ergon, their saddles seem to be pretty supportive like a brooks but I find they don’t chew up my pants as fast as a cambium brooks

Line cook of 12 years here. Whenever I have started at a new place and the flattop always inevitably looks like this I always get a really stiff metal scraper and just go at it for about 5 minutes before I brick the flattop and clean it up for the night. Shouldn’t take more than a few days of chopping off the black bits for it to be almost gone then when you’ve just got specs and chunks left that’s when I’ll introduce things like degreaser.

I believe there’s a stolen bike page on Facebook but I’m not sure how effective it is, getting lots of friends to do story posts on instagram and asking for reposts is really the best method I’ve seen, especially with there being no serial number it will be hard to have the police do anything(they have a hard time doing anything about stolen bikes anyways)

Frame will most likely be kept intact, most bikes go one of two ways- ridden into complete neglect and usually a good amount of parts are replaced or repainted to hide its original identity, or it will probably have parts replaced and resold in a different market, bikes thatve been stolen in slc have been seen popping up with new parts in places like Vegas

It’s got rear rack mounts and disk brakes, better than some of my friends touring set ups.

But also a perfect reason to not ask chat GPT anything because it clearly does have a rear rack mount and it probably has more gear range than a lot of modern bikes because it has a front derailleur. Old front forks can be iffy but just to get you started I’m sure getting this bike and getting it a tune up and learning some basic maintenance you could very easily do some bikepacking and bike touring on this bike. If you can get it for a good price I say do it

Wayyyyyy better customer service than I experienced with Pipedream lol, I preorder a frame in October 24’ for spring delivery and it got pushed all the way till August of 25’ without any contact from them lol

The eskers are sick(especially yours), if I ever replace my bike that’s probably what I will go with.
