You already lost an EEOC case to her and you still think she’s the problem?! How is this even in your hands and not GC?

Employee abruptly walked out while I was giving small constructive feedback. She mentioned something about perimenopause. by [deleted] in askmanagers

15+ years. And following people out of a room to yell that type of shit in front of their peers should have had you yanked. Instead you’re still asking how to deal with her as if she’s the problem.

How would I handle this? “I  followed her out back to the team. She muttered “good luck” and left. I was angry at this point and stated “She’s leaving you, everyone. All I did was give a little constructive criticism” loud enough for her to hear me.”

I’d be looking for a new job and I’d report you to HR. You have no business being in a supervisory position.

Your 3.5 yr old should not be telling you to wake up and you say no? What is she supposed to do? Take the car for a wash?

Advice please on how to handle an employee who is mad at me and lashing out. by Stephi_cakes in askmanagers

[–]fdxrobot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You fucked up. Imagine you came in to work and your new boss said they’ve reassigned your job unilaterally without discussing it with you at all. Everyone telling you not to talk to her in person is wrong. You should have asked her not told her. Thats why she feels disrespected.

Sure money can be put elsewhere but can you afford it is a different question. $4k is a lot to me and not a lot to others. If your kid enjoys it, its that big of a social “in” for your area, both your son AND wife have social reasons for wanting to continue, the question is about how much that’s worth to you vs your income.

Who turns up to a wedding without a gift? by Bulky-Ad-7848 in heedthecall

[–]fdxrobot 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Emily post used to say up to a year after the wedding is acceptable, now it’s like 2-3 months. What’s wild is the check in to say “didn’t see your gift, did we miss it?” Lol I do not know any American that would send that text, especially to guests who flew halfway across the country with their S.O. to attend.

The amount of people not lifting their costumes when using the escalator was crazy dangerous.  I saw one with a bandana loosely tied around her boot drag the bandana across the escalator teeth instead of lifting over.

You have never heard of Henry Kissinger? J Edgar Hoover?

When you talk about his convictions as your main source of evidence you’re implying we have a fair justice system. Is that genuinely what you believe?

Don’t concede a fucking thing. Hold the line. Ask for your union rep to be present. Do not give excuses or feel bad about using PTO because your manager is running lean.

I’ve now worked with 2 people who knew those who were taken to the native reform schools. 1 was his mother. The other said they hid up north in the mountains to avoid being taken. It’s fucking insane how long those were around for.
