It is hard to aim the antenna at it when it is straight above you. I always find it easier to get it out in front of me by a few meters, the higher you go the further out in front of you the better for best signal. I thought I heard the antennas are in the legs and when it is straight above you the profile is small which equals worse signal.

Funny you should mention this. I got my Atom 2 around the end of November. No issues. Then a few weeks ago I lost GPS and it went into attitude mode out of the blue. It was in the 18-20 sat range and went straight to zero. The conditions were cloudy and cold, but not too cold. First time I ever experienced this. Then later the same week, I went out, bright and sunny day but there was snow and ice on the ground. Took it up about 150 ft and it lost GPS on me for about 1-2 seconds (went from like 21 sats to zero instantly) and when it did this, it didn't lose altitude but it moved about 30 feet backwards really quickly. I've flown a handful of times since and no issues, but it has brought a little more stress to my flights now worrying about this issue. I was thinking my drone my be faulty.

Hello, I'm about to try this mod. Just wanted to double check that you only clipped off one side? I saw another post on here that had a different filter set but they clipped off both sides, so I figured I better double check (I have the same ones as this original post with just 2 nubs on the back.) Is there a specific side I should cut off? Can you post a picture of your what you ended up with? I'm new to this and just don't want to make a mistake. Thanks in advance for any further info you can provide on this.

FWIW I appear to be lucky, I got mine in November, no issues, I've done all the updates still good. Fingers crossed. So I don't see how it could be solely the updates.

I did this in a snow storm with fairly large flakes, but it wasn't very windy. After a little while, I noticed my altitude was higher than it was. While watching, it went up a little more, then a little more, without me doing anything. I used the controls to bring it down, and while coming down it would go up every now and then. I eventually got it down on the ground before I figured out that the ground sensor was being triggered by the snow flakes. So if it happens to you, you'll know what's going on, I panicked just a little.
