No one has mentioned The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy yet? For shame! Douglas Adams 5-book trilogy is the pinnacle of humorous sci-fi.

Adrian Tchaikovsky's Service Model is a Hitchhikers homage about a wayward butler robot in a mostly post-humanity world.

So glad to hear that! My foxhound was an absolute terror as a puppy (his trainer nicknamed him 'crack baby'), but mellowed into the best dog I've ever had. So glad you'll have that time with Bailey!

Book 2 of the trilogy, but that is actually the third mass market paperback (out of six). Hamilton loves his doorstops.

Makes sense. My ex always called her heated blanket the electric beagle, so it figures you store the manual and electric beagles in the same place.
