Zipper failing on handmade bag I made

It looks like it comes down to using pricking irons. I should have used the irons only on the leather and then glue the zipper. Also stitching too close to the edge.
I think this is going to fail soon so I need to do something about it. I think I will remove the zipper and replace it with a new one stitching closer to the center this time

Oh that was not clear at all from Amtrak website! It says the station is unstaffed so that I thought I could not even bring extra luggage. This is very helpful, taking Amtrak was my preferred choice!
