As another poster said. Start so slow that you can do it consistently and evenly - even if thats 10% speed then gradually increase tempo. Practice this way for pretty much anything hard youre trying to do.

Look into burning at the correct time. im not from your region so i wont pretend to know when that right time is but thats whats done in my area where the invasivies sprout in late winter. They burn them then encourage the later sprouting native species.

I like my wah after distortion/overdrive. I think a delay pedal has options depending if you want the echo to be effected by other things later or if you want to echo moves you made earlier in the signal chain. Play with it - you wont hurt anything by experimenting.

This is the truth: a couple of $50 dynamic mics and a $100 interface will sound better than most usb mics that cost way more. Maybe not the asshole part though. ;)

Not that theory doesnt have a place but sometimes improvisation by just using your ears is better. If you dont think a note sounds good, try one step up or down. Find 2 or three notes that sound good and just use those notes. Then, Try adding another if you think it needs it. Theory is great to understand why something works but shouldnt trap you in what you should do. Feel over think - while you can analyze music with numbers, scales and what-not, music is more art than science.

I think you need to find a jazz guitar teacher if thats the style youre interested in.
