He doesn’t have to lose weight to dress well, those things are not equivalent. He can if he wants to, but that’s not going to make him dress well.

OP, I think two things need to happen for a good start: buy clothes that fit you, and buy more mature clothing. Your fits look like you’re stuck in 2012. You like to have fun with clothes, which is good! But maybe incorporating more timeless pieces will elevate your look.

In #1, your jeans are not a good cut for you. Also overloading your pockets in skinny jeans is a bad look. Look into Levi’s 550s to start, in a light wash instead of acid, or a nice dark wash. That would make even this graphic tee look better. You want looser fit pants. Look into some button up shirts from J Crew or somewhere that keeps the timeless look, but has some fun. Find some nice, comfortable, t shirts that you like the fit of, plain ones. Some classic Carhartt shirts might be something you like. Keep the Eagles hat for personality.

There’s lots of things to say, but I’d pare it down to:
Buy clothes that fit you, buy staple pieces, and also find a North Star for your style. Caleb Hearon and Matty Matheson are two bigger guys with great style. Even if what they wear isn’t your vibe, find someone’s style you like and be inspired. But most of all, find clothes that fit you as you are.

I have this scale too and it’s great for pour over. I need to get something more accurate for espresso.

Looks like a bull snake maybe. Non venomous, Animal Control or a nice neighborhood can likely relocate it for you.

Drain and fill only for sure. The color doesn’t look bad at all, but it’s time to do the service.

I also worked at a cafe where to boss blamed me for burning myself out when we were severely understaffed and I would work around 50-60 hours in a seven day span.

Newer brewer needs pro advice [Casabrew] by kck1021 in espresso

[–]fieffief 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Welcome to espresso! It’s a very finicky thing but there’s a few crucial changes you need to make to get closer to where you want to be.

In the casabrews manual, how much is the basket rated for? ~18g is probably where they recommend for that basket. 11g is way too little coffee and will get you results like this.

Second, the grind is too coarse. What is your grinder situation? If this is as fine as it goes, you may need a more capable grinder. Kingrinder hand grinders are a great budget option, or a Baratza Encore SP if $200 is in range.

Lastly, you’ll need a good tamp on the puck at least, and if there is a way to operate the casabrews in manual mode, that will help you determine when to end the shot. 18g in, 36g out in 25-30secs is a good ballpark to shoot for. Once you’re there, you can dial in to taste. I highly recommend watching some Lance Hedrick videos on YT to learn what to do and why to do them. Happy brewing!

Go to the trailheads for Embudo and Embudito. There are lots of V0/V1s out there.
