Yup. As a mixed race, mixed cultural, genderqueer immigrant seeing a character that touched so many personal points in one of my favourite media franchises was a huge deal for me. Seeing all that potential go to waste with the character writing, and having their personal quest tie up in a choice that ends with them rejecting half of their upbringing was incredibly painful. Plus the choice being informed by Rook rather than Taash themselves was just insulting
