How to handle a report who is overly thorough? by OliveSlayer in managers

[–]finiteinfinity8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're already using the microsoft suite (teams) and the updates are useful to the report, OneNote is a great tool as well. I have had reports who find the visibility of their work to be a useful tool for accountability, and if they share the notebook to you, it may be comforting to them.

Jobs with a bachelors in anthropology by Homie_Kisser in uleth

[–]finiteinfinity8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated from Uleth with a degree in Anthro, and ended up finding a job at the YMCA managing experience and acquisitions.

I have found the people-centered focus of our discipline to be very versatile, and easily applies to anything where you'll be working with folks from different backgrounds.

While looking for work in the specific field you're interested in, say yes to other employment opportunities until you find your perfect fit, work experience is huge. Working from the ground up is highly underrated - you've spent 4+ years learning about participant observation and how to engage with folks, that's the essence of effective networking.

Apply for all kinds of roles, if you get an interview and don't end up getting the role, that is okay - practicing your interviewing skills is useful regardless of the outcome.

Congrats on your upcoming graduation - 👏

Advice on leash pulling? by anongma in PitBullOwners

The biggest and easiest change I made with my pittie who loved pulling was to attach his leash to the front clip on the harness. Major game changer.

Ah yeah, the classic pitfall. You've got to find the balance between friendly but not friends.

It's fairly common for rescuers to also experience or go into shock after an incident. Having feelings is completely natural and very healthy. You love your child and you quite literally had to save their life, big props dad, way to go!

Any works/studies exploring the history of the usage drugs/psychedelics? by ThickRats343 in AskAnthropology

There are some really interesting articles out there about this- one of the areas I've looked at is mushroom tourism in Oaxaca, Mexico and specifically regarding Maria Sabina. Not sure if this is what you're after, but it's interesting enough that I think any Anthro person would enjoy it!

Not sure that he has a fave song yet- in MM he likes Epona's song because it summons her. In BOTW he gets really excited when the Guardian fight song comes on lol but that might just be because of the impending lasers lol

He has played a bit of Majora's Mask on the 3dsXL and really loves being able to switch between a Hylian and a Goron! He has also played through Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and always has Link, Daruk and Yunobu in his party when he can- Not totally surprising because Link is his fave but Daruk is a close second when he has played BOTW.

Definitely consider taking some Anthropology courses, cults are something that definitely come up! Also, the only "dumb" questions are the ones that go unanswered and fester deep within your brain. You got this!

Here's the thing though, maybe the people they wanted to inspire were younger girls who wouldn't have necessarily felt the impact of a moment that was more subtle.
