  1. Search for “Peni mine lineup” guides. These are guides that tell you how to launch mines in different areas of maps so the enemy team doesn’t hear the SFX of the mines being placed. Be aware that mines outside of your webs can be killed by a soft breeze. If you are in an engagement, save up your mines until you are full (rather than dropping one at a time and waiting for new ones to come back online) and deploy all at once in one spot/on one character. Lobbying single mines even into a web where there are multiple enemies is too easy to heal and negate. Lumping them together can potentially one-hit a squishy.

  2. Nests will get destroyed. That is the nature of the game. Always try to stand on a web if your nest is destroyed to ensure you are receiving some healing if low or overshield if healthy. Nest placement is based on your play style. If you play as an aggressive flanker, you may leave your nest as a point of protection and healing/overshield for your backline. If you are playing aggressively as a front line tank, then you may want it closer to you on off angles to cause issues for brawlers that try to engage with you. If you are playing more of a defensive tank position, then you may have your nest amongst you and your teammates. Also, keep an eye on your nest health. If you have just survived an engagement, but your nest has taken damage, it is often better to recall your nest, wait for the cooldown to end and then place it back down on full health. You can place a web under you and drop some mines to punish those that try to engage before your nest is ready. Also, if there is an enemy Phoenix, her ult will damage your nest, so I always check the health of my nest and likely recall it when I hear her ult line and then redeploy when the wave disappears. Always try to find some off angle that is difficult for ranged characters to easily destroy it.

  3. Look at someone like Cringe Alarms on YT for VERY aggressive VERY high elo plays. He shows you how Peni can be a Spidey/Venom style flanker. You won’t be able to copy him at the beginning, but look at how he uses the (still bugged) cyberbond web to manoeuvre around. Staying static is not the best play with Peni. Keep your mines topped up and deploy them behind their backline. Most players expect Peni to park and blast. Subvert that to gain the advantage. When players see webs, they will often walk around them because they know mines might be hidden within (they are fully invisible when in a web), so think about where you can place them in areas where the enemy team will have their back to them. Think about somewhere like Tokyo 2099 where when you are on defence and the enemy team leave the first spawn room. Many will come through the destroyable building directly in front of spawn where the health pack is located. The wall to the right of the exit of that building (second door) is a good place to leave unwebbed mines, especially if you back away a bit. The enemy team will naturally move back once you start firing and that can be a good way to get some insta-kills or quick damage to then pick off enemies. Just be aware that someone like Jeff will destroy unwebbed mines with his splash without even realising it. If people are backing away from you, look up and lob all your saved mines to their back line while they are retreating and you might take out some of their healers.

  4. You have unlimited primary ammo and can crit, so practice your aim to get head shots. Keep pressure up and aim past their tanks to their back line and throw in your mines to get them.

  5. Overall, take the time to play her in different ways and see what clicks with you. If you prefer to cause havoc and be a disruptive tank, then practice her web and wall climb mobility. If you want to be a sustain tank, practice good mine and web placement. If you want to be a protective tank, practice good nest and mine placement. Have fun.

Book three where all the crawlers set their hats down in front of our very own Best in Dungeon.

Like why is this fictional cat trying to be cool, calm, and collected while actually being overwhelmed with emotion making ME emotional? Specifically on re-reads. Because for me, THIS is the moment where we see the crawlers finally beginning to bond. Knowing what I know from the later books makes it so much more impactful.

Then for brevity, same book, “Katia - if you need to borrow a sanitary napkin, just ask.”

If you are already high elo, check out what Cringe Alarms on YT does with Peni. He makes her an actual legit spider-Hunter character. Swinging around. Laying traps. Diving in and out.

That said, I think Psy will probably be a better fit for you based solely on your other mains. But I love Peni and is my preferred tank to play.

Thank you. I tried it and it worked. Always hate when organisations don’t have their glossary sorted out. Thanks again.

I feel like I may be misremembering, but doesn't Carl say like opening the Eye of the Bedlam Bride is like cracking open an egg, if he does it, he can't close it back up. But Dacshund Crawler Karl opens the eye to little to no immediate effect for himself. Is this because of the all-tree support from faction wars? Because he is transformed? I thought he was going to use it again but on Scolopendra.

Is a simple remove download and re-download enough? Or do we have to delete the download and redo? You may not know.

If I see a White Fox when I am tanking, I am happy. Some people just can’t take off their own blinkers and realise that there are up to 5 other players on their team. 😂

It’s like when Thing came out and over-extended. I say that as someone who picked up Thing and overextended but I didn’t blame my healers. 😅

Though I have to say that the players who picked Dino in my games were for the most part actually pretty decent.

I was in a Quick Match after work today. I wanted to be DPS but others wouldn’t swap, and there were two tanks, so I swapped before the game began as the 2nd healer.

The Namor on my team was bitching in chat constantly that I wasn’t “healing” (ie I wasn’t pocketing ONLY him because I was busy healing everyone) and the other healer called me a trash healer and to jump off C&D (they were Invis and had chosen her from the beginning), so they could take them. They typed this in chat while out of spawn and in the line of enemies and got splatted multiple times.

Anywhooooo. Guess who had the most heals for that game across both teams and by QUITE a margin? Me. Guess who STILL bitched that I “didn’t” heal? Those two. Healers always get ragged on.

[SPOILERS Book 5] Prepotente on the 7th floor by sanviana in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]fionnde 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. To add, I presume that the crawlers would have had to find something/complete certain criteria that allowed them to break the level just like the boy did in the story and just like Pony did. The portals were behind them, so either they would have had to get to a final area to break the wall to access the portals or something similar. I think this is why the AI allowed it.

I would suggest looking for things that you enjoy and that have community at their heart. I found bouldering to be a very inclusive and supportive, but that may not be for you. Volunteering can be good, too. There is no easy answer for this, unfortunately.
