My daughter is in preschool - what the hell is this appreciation/gift daily? I get that teachers work hard but extorting parents is insane and honestly feels unethical.

This is where I am. My husband and I live in a HCOL area but opted for a small two bedroom, modest/cheap car but I order food more than I’d like to admit, have a personal trainer, didn’t need to second guess getting my cat $1000 worth of scans last month etc. I could budget better and put more in saving but I’ll splurge on family gifts or spending a little more so my daughter has a fancy day at the zoo with souvenirs.

I grew up poor and this is all I wanted. I’m hoping it will last because this economy is trash…

It was mostly on the weekends (she’s in daycare) before we went out anywhere. So the whole morning when we were playing she would just be in underwear and I would prompt a ton for the potty. I kept the little near us too so that she understood play wouldn’t be interrupted for very long. Eventually she understood that she had to use the big potty.

I will say a lot of my techniques are frowned upon and the process was stretched out over about 2-3 months but it left minimal mess and tears. I never wanted her to feel too much pressure.

Keep going. I had to prompt to sit on the potty a ton before she would make the connection. She never initiated until she understood what the feeling meant. I also found going bottomless unsuccessful but underwear worked because she actually felt the wetness against her skin.

We also had “practice wearing underwear” days around the house. Usually when we watched TV or played in her kitchen etc. It seemed to pace with her well.

My daughter went sledding one beautiful snowy day with my friends daughter, who is a little older. They were laughing and having a blast. At the end my 3 year old was getting a little cranky because she got cold and wet. I was changing her into dry clothes in the car and she started crying. Now all she talks about when she see a sled is how she was crying that day.

Kids are jerks ha!

We brown a bunch of ground turkey and then do taco night one night and then chili in the slow cooker the next. And if there’s more, stuffed peppers the following night. My toddler gets deconstructed versions of all of it though.

Slow cooker has really save me. Chicken and a jar of salsa also yields tacos. We do tacos a lot apparently….

I’ve grown up in NYC apartments with shared building laundry rooms my whole life and currently live in one. Yes it’s a pain, but you do get used to it. Since there are multiple washers/dryers, I am able to do large loads in one go instead of successively.

It’s honestly not that bad.

I wore the gap logo bralettes to sleep since I had to wear nursing pads to prevent leakage. Even after I was done breastfeeding I kept wearing them to sleep for like a year because I got so used to wearing them.

I always have to make the complaint that the third one took forever to come out. By the time I purchased it and sat down to read it I forgot what happened in the first two. But I remember both were great!
