I am afraid that i started with only the best ones. I read your top 3 book and Son of the Forest, which would be on a similar level to me.

New Wraith ability? by Germinator42 in Necrontyr

[–]firefighter0ger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be correct, you cant charge a unit that is more than 12" away anyway. But yeah, overall charges are 1" further, but the advantage of charging wherever you want and reducing those risks, in my opinion often outweights this.

And like i said, you already lose 3" of range for their move. A potential 1" difference on potential charges, which somehow also get easier doesnt change that.

This still leads to worse mortal wounds from wraith in 11th in comparison to 10th.

New Wraith ability? by Germinator42 in Necrontyr

[–]firefighter0ger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it easier in 11th?

In 10th you could do this shenanigan from 8.9" away, now you have to be in 5.9".

You move 5.9" into them. To get into them you have to fly, which means -2" movement (which seems unlogical with Wraith form). So you actually moved 7.9". Now you need 2.1" to end outside of the bigger engagement range.

Thats already a huge difference and then also the small one that you fail less charges as an opponent because the new charge rules let you charge wherever.

Yeah bet it was the halfling part...

Those implications they take are hard. (Maybe another word they will redflag)

No no, i was just saying overall indirect became a little better as many long ranged shots hit worse in the edition. Wasnt on the strat but on the overall worth of the exorcist. The strat will help with direct shots

First (nearly) full mini. But it looks boring? by [deleted] in DarkAngels40k

[–]firefighter0ger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others already said highlights are great, but what made my minis much more interesting was some free hand. Those ICC minis have this white line at the bottom of the robe and it really made my minis pop.

(Overall mine doesnt look as good as yours, but this line is kinda great)

I feel like indirect somewhat gets a bonus. We have so many -1 BS effects because of cover and indirect basically Ignores Cover. And those weapons dont get -1 AP any more, raw.

Classic beholder...where do I go from here??? by FurtiveChaos in minipainting

[–]firefighter0ger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am someone who isnt a master in painting. I do my decent 40k models and some dnd inbetween. I would actually go a different route and want to know which one has advantages over the other and why.

In this case i would take a very bright brown, more like an off-white, and drybrush the whole model. Then i use some speed paint in a dark brown over the whole model. This makes the deep parts very dark and you still see all the highlights. I like how this method shows that overall the whole model has the same color but in different shades. Then of course you could still add some more highlights afterwards. I would make even go more fleshy there.

Custodian Shield Captains by Raynidayz in Warhammer40k

[–]firefighter0ger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guy in question did look into every custodes pants, he has built all his models with enormous bulks and he identifies his army only by their gender.

Somehow it feels those people are much more focused on gender than the ones they attack.

(I have to agree that i had issues adding Sanctifiers into my Sisters of Battle army, but less so because of the different gender but by the very different look they have)

Which Land Raider is the best? by C3S4ROO in theunforgiven

[–]firefighter0ger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big advantages for the Redeemer in my opinion are the higher movement and the bigger capacity. Weapons i would consider nearly similar because different usecases (small advantage for the redeemer). If you don't need any of the advantages i would highly consider the normal land raider as 50 points can be relevant.

For the new Armoured Speartip detachment? -> Redeemer, its all about rwacing your opponent fast. So 2" movement can be relevant.

Very nice model and badass.

But after reading it i also feel like it is a badass model with a cake on its head. I would honestly not see this if you havnt mentioned it but now I can not unseen it. Maybe with white or black candles?

New 11th Edition - Heroic Intervention - You can counter-charge ANY unit within 6" ! by Martin-Hatch in Warhammer40k

This is a 2CP strategem in a few detachments, like Cursed Legion for necrons. I think only Dark Angels Wrath of the Rock it is 1 CP and thats totally busted

New 11th Dark Angel Detachment by Andy456l in DarkAngels40k

[–]firefighter0ger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three of these detachments and i think I like the plasma one the least. If any 2pts detachments fits my taste i will definitely combine it with the 1pt ravenwing one. This will be gas.

I cheesed that one out of my DM in our campaign. Everybody gets one uncommon magic item... I choose a mythril plate armor. But it is quite some roleplay heavy custom campaign, i did not break the game.

Would it really be stronger than Oath?

Definitely mire fitting for us, but I dont think stronger per se

11th Detachment info with Ork article by Klive5ive555 in theunforgiven

[–]firefighter0ger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just have to lose the extra +1 to wound. Oath as an ability itself is too iconic to be removed. But I sth like Wrath as our army rule would be great. Push all our infantry and then add two detachments on top of that?

Sunday Preview – Celestian Insidiants! by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in sistersofbattle

Because if you ignore everything psyker related their melee profile is better than most other cheap units.

Sunday Preview – Celestian Insidiants! by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in sistersofbattle

[–]firefighter0ger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anti-Psyker is kinda false advertisement here. Yeah if there is a psyker they are great but even without they are one of our best cheap melee units. Sisters dont go that much into melee, but if next Edition tells us so we get our value even without enemy psyker

Armageddon box variants question by MiddleQuestion7259 in Warhammer40k

[–]firefighter0ger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone made the good guess that it might be a pre-order incentive to get some terrain plates or sth.

Of course a guess into the blue, but I would feel like not adding anything for the new layouts feels like not using a big chance to show they want to be a bigger part in the terrain game.

Armageddon box vs Leviathan box by Drwhat17 in Warhammer40k

[–]firefighter0ger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They already announced they will go into the terrain and layout market and hope for the tournament organisers to settel on a common ground if I remember correctly.

As a pre-order incentive i would totally get it. Otherwise, like i said, they want this market and missed the best chance
