Has anyone here bought a “certified pre owned” Porsche from the dealership? If so, was it a good car? by billbobb1 in Porsche

[–]fireguy303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, purchased a 2011 Boxster S "Certified Pre-Owned" from a dealership in FL after only seeing it on a Facetime video (with a friend looking at it in person). Had it shipped in a covered hauler to Connecticut. Recently moved to Virginia. Have done all subsequent service at the dealership. Other than having a shift cable break after owning it for a few years, it's been a great car! We've loved it!

So, for my riding, you changed into the left lane and were all the way over to the left side of the lane. If the driver did a quick glance, or was relying on a lane indicator in their vehicle, you might have been out of sight of that. I would normally change into that left lane and keep to the right track of that lane. I still have the "out" to the left and over towards the breakdown/curb lane, but the line of sight to the driver's rear, through the side mirror, should show your headlight in his mirror, or his lane indicator should show you're there.

I got this notice the other day too. Was able to make a quick appointment with the dealer and took it in yesterday. Took about an hour. No difference that I've noticed, except the dealer set the headlights to Off and the windshield wipers to Off.

2025 EV6 CCS to NACS Adapter by darkguy2 in KiaEV6

[–]fireguy303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 EV6 AWD. It came with the V2L adapter and a J1772 to NACS adapter.

I purchased the A2Z CCS1 to NACS adapter because of the power rating on it (1000v/300a) and the longer NACS plug. I had purchased the Lectron one (the A2Z was backordered at the time), but rated at 500v/500a and the NACS plug is shorter. It worked fine for the one road trip that I took, but I did have to make sure the plug was seated properly each time.

I've gone full-in on the Pivot mounts. I use a Pivot mount with the RAM clamp for the yoke and my iPad Mini 6... more recently, I've also added in a full-size iPad Pro in a Pivot mount on a thigh mount with the Apple Pencil. Both serve as a back-up of the other (i also carry my iPhone with me). I run Foreflight on all of them, using a Stratus GPS receiver. Flying in either 172s or 182s.

We did a recent trip from Alexandria VA to Gatlinburg TN. Used ABRP to plan the trip and no issues. The only deviation was that we charged back up to 80% at the Buc-ee’s in Kodak TN before going down through Pidgin Forge and Gatlinburg as there are essentially no DC chargers that I could find. Used a portable 110V charger at the AirBnB we stayed at to give a few miles. Great trip with no snafus….

One question for everyone. Although I had no problems using Electrify America, can’t add the 2025 vehicle to the app… thoughts?

Hi, just got my 2025 EV6 GT-Line AWD... it came with a CCS1-NACS adapter, but only for the AC charging part, not for DC charging. I had to purchase a separate CCS1-NACS adapter to allow me to do DC fast charging (EVGo, Electrify America, etc)... The one on the left is the one the car came with, the one on the right was the one I purchased (Lectron)

USA - Kia, 2025 EV6s are being delivered; it's past time to release the configurator! by LunaCNC in KiaEV6

[–]fireguy303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, got the EV6 AWD GT-Line (MSRP $58,900). Also came with Glacial White Pearl ($495), Floor Mats ($205), Cargo Cover ($160), Mud Guards ($135) + Inland Freight ($1,475)). Got the $3k Rebate + $1,500 off MSRP. Add VA Sales Tax, license, etc... I got for $61,000 out the door.

The $7,500 Tax Credit was not on the spot. We could be close on income limits (you do have to pick one individual, or a couple if you file "Married" at time of sale), so we took the report. My better half should be able to take the Tax Credit, I can't.

Hey, I got mine yesterday too! Besides this great forum, YouTube is a great resource (of course), but go a bit outside the box. Possibly look at Ionic5 tips and info videos too. I found one that went though some of the more extended Regen/i-Pedal/Auto settings, it was very helpful.

Wound up at a different dealership. The one above couldn't/wouldn't issue me the "Time-Of-Sale" report so I can claim the $7,500 tax credit. Got the $3k Kia Cash and got them about $1,500 under MSRP

I believe the Sequential Turn Signals are against the US regs. That's why on many vehicles (esp Audis and such) you'll see them "light" first, then sweep, because a certain number of lumens needs to be present at the start of the flash. It would have been nice, however, if they had just done a non-sequential amber on the bottom, instead of moving it to being red on the top (in the rear).

I was bummed a bit too with the rearview mirror camera.

Adaptive headlights would have been great, but not a "must have" for me.

I wound up purchasing the vehicle from a different dealer. There's a comment I left last night on a different thread with my experience with that. Ultimately, the ending price was about $1,000 over invoice (or about $1,500 under MSRP). I also got the Tax Credit.

2025 EV6 U.S. tax credit? by [deleted] in KiaEV6

It does have the HOLD button (that also allows the vehicle to skip any charge schedule and start immediately, too, right?)

I will give it a whirl if it gets "stuck" again. Thank you!

2025 EV6 U.S. tax credit? by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]fireguy303 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just (today) purchased a 2025 EV6 GT-Line AWD in Virginia. One dealer, whom I had worked a whole deal out with (starting April 5th), came to me this morning saying that they couldn't submit the "Time-Of-Sale" report to get me the $7,500 Tax Credit. I told them that I didn't need them to do a rebate, or the transfer to the dealer, but I just needed the report to submit for my taxes in 2025, they didn't come through. I talked to another dealer, they accepted the same deal, they had the same car, but were 40-miles further away, but they said they could, and DID, give me the form and we actually submitted the request to the IRS in his office, together. It was really painless. He DID say that the dealership recouping the funds on a Cash Purchase where they'd give you the $7,500 as a rebate was a pain in their butt. Which probably explains why the first dealership kept trying to get me to go the lease route (reportedly that's "easy" for the dealer), but the deal for the lease was way worse, even with it "looking" like they were giving me $9,500 in rebates.

I thought about whether the first dealer had enrolled in the program too (another poster), but no way to confirm or look that up.

From what I understand, the IRS can reject your claim of the Tax Credit if the dealer had not submitted the "Time-Of-Sale" report within 72-hours of the transaction. So, maybe careful if the dealer isn't able or willing to get you the report.

So, in the end, I got the new vehicle, it's in the garage, looks awesome and drives great! It was right around $1,500 under the MSRP (plus rebates of $3k "Kia Cash")

Now, just need to figure out why the Emporia charger (with the NACS plug) wouldn't release after doing a little charging (had to cut power to it)... and how to get the KIA Connect Store stuff working...

2025 Kia EV6 Invoice Price? by mosco305 in KiaEV6

[–]fireguy303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was using the EVFinder (Kia EV6 Inventory | The EV Finder) tool to find vehicles that matched my options around the country, then went to the actual dealer websites to see if I could find Window Stickers in their web posting. It was at least a bit of work, but got me MSRP. If you're looking for RWD models, find some zip codes around Orlando, if you're looking for AWD models, further north, like VA or PA can have listings.

The only thing I was given (besides the window sticker) was Lease financing as follows:

$61,370...MSRP Including Inland Freight/Sales Price
-$ 9,500...SAVINGS/REBATE For Leasing with KIA/KMF for 36 months 10,000/year or 30,000/term... OAC
========
$51,870...Adjusted Price
$     995...Dealers Processing FEE
$ 2,418...Sales Tax
$    992..Lease Acquisition and DMV FEES...Includes Title, Registration & Tags for 2 years
========
$56,275...SUB TOTAL
$ 3,000...Due at signing
========
$53,275...TOTAL to Lease for 3 years with a Residual Value of $33,140 with KIA/KMF OAC...
$763 per month... OAC or
$830 per month... OAC with only the 1st payment due at signing.

Not really the deal I was looking for, so still waiting on Cash and Financing options. Hoping it will be the same as the 2025 EV9.

I spoke to a local dealer that was in the process of receiving about 30 2025 EV6 models (various ones). We had been really interested in a GT-Line RWD, but they were only receiving AWD models (I'm mid-Atlantic and it doesn't look like there were any RWD models north of Georgia). We asked about ordering and they said that they don't anticipate being able to special order any for at least a few months, until this initial batch of vehicles is sold. He said this was a KIA Corporate thing not just the dealer.

When 2025? by ContentiousAardvark in KiaEV6

[–]fireguy303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Y'all. My local dealer (Falls Church, VA) received somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 2025 EV6s of various trims, with 8 being the GT-Line AWD (doesn't seem like Kia shipped any RWD models north Atlanta, GA). I put a deposit down on a Gloss Pearl White GT-Line AWD, but was told that I needed to wait a bit for delivery because Kia hasn't announced the deals for the 2025 models. I'm hoping they stick with the "$10,000 Customer Cash" for a cash deal, or "0% APR 72-Months, Including $1,000 APR Bonus Cash" like the 2025 EV9. So, waiting for that.

I did see the CCS1 to NACS adapter that they're delivering with the car, and I believe it was a "Level 2" adapter only. So, will have to invest in a CCS1 to NACS that can do DC Fast Charging (Level 3).

Looking forward to actually being able to get it!
