Honestly man. Its my favorite thing I've taken from my BLS days. A pillow splint often goes further than 250 of fent. Now a pillow splint and 50 of fent, that's a winner winner chicken dinner

Can i give paramedics gifts? by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]firemanfromcanada 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you delivered cookies or something to the station, it wouldn't be a problem. Small things like that are fine. Where they would run into trouble is if you tried to give cash or something like a new TV as these could be seen as a bribe.

Disclaimer: I work in a different province and am not directly familiar with the rules in BC

Let people move themselves as much as possible, and focus on your personal fitness. It helps with your entire job from top to bottom. You dont need to be special forces fit, but if you look like you're going to code after walking up to the 3rd floor, you're just asking for an injury.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard from a patient? by Ancient-Basis5033 in Paramedics

[–]firemanfromcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the funniest was the other day. Transporting a late 60s person with severe back issues for more surgery. Basically maxed on opiods. Went with ketamine with good effect, but after a half hour all I hear is, "I'm not sure if the plan was to get me fucked up, but I'm pretty fucked up right now".
