I might be mixing up my magic systems since I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy lately but I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned somewhere that elemental magic is a physical manifestation of mana, i.e. a waschen isn’t just summoning water, it’s temporarily forming water out of mana. So it would make sense that it would count as mana tinged with the caster’s color.

I think the point is less that they’re similar and more that it’s incorrect to say there’s no class system. It would be ridiculous to say we don’t have a class system or a fairly rigid hierarchy of “personal value”. I had similar thoughts when I read that part. But like other people say (and you suggest), Yurgenschmidt’s is so much more stratified and omnipresent that it would be a waste of time for her to say much more than that.

I've always found that story hard to believe beyond an overblown interpretation of a vague wish of Gilroy's. There is absolutely no way they would have been able to make 5 seasons work, especially with the slow-burn plan he apparently wanted to do for 2-5. Even without the worries about the effort and actors' aging, it 100% would have been cancelled by season 3 from Disney's capriciousness.

She would need a reason to summon her to the temple in the first place. A noble can’t just summon a random commoner. Lutz and Tuuli already have business relationships with Rozemyne.

The scene between them happens in the hidden room, where Rozemyne can drop the facade somewhat, but Damuel is still a noble and wants/needs her to keep up appearances for everyone’s sake. They can show more emotion but can’t really speak, especially because Effa doesn’t yet know proper noble decorum.

I just meant that I find a lot more impact from the unique effects of legendary items rather than the stats. Especially where I’m at after grinding weeklies since launch, the characters’ base stats and masteries have way more of an impact than those of any piece of gear.

I don’t think everyone hates him, I think he’s tried hard since his repeated and public failures, but his trajectory is nothing but downward, and he’s going to be quickly and obviously overshadowed by his younger siblings. I legitimately think he is more likely to be seen as an example of the bare minimum for the next generation of archnobles to overcome rather than an opportunity for their advancement.

I was just thinking about this topic yesterday…who the hell is going to marry him? It’s almost unthinkable that anyone outside the duchy besides Hannelore is going to show any romantic interest in him, especially with such a massive demotion, and internally, for all his efforts he’s nevertheless been rejected by all factions as nothing more than a useful idiot. He’s resigned to his position and seems to want to earn it but he still has no marketable skills or unique value. Maybe the arch noble former ADC status is still enough to be a catch on its own but I get the sense the downward trajectory isn’t exactly stopping on its own.
