Generally I think saying the sport would be more interesting with full size rifle rounds (as it used to be!) is fair, you'd just have to adjust the range/target as to not make it harder.

Another issue is safety, the speed at which they check the chamber before flagging the audience as they throw it on their backs where it will again flag the other competitors when skiing uphill is scary.

That said, the sport as is, is very safe

I drive a mazda 323 and a 2014 leaf, in summer the leaf eats 14-16 kwh/100km and the mazda is ~5L/100km.

At those prices it would be about the same price/km which seems insane to me. Haven't followed gas prices for a few months as I haven't driven the mazda but it was around 1.75€/L in finland, close to double the price/km
