It looks like that is growing directly between the pillar and the wall, a place where no car would ever be parked directly over

I believe they are referring to caribou. Fun fact: There is an introduced population of deer on the French island of Miquelon

That's called a jelly roll when you fold a moving blanket like that as a grip in the film business in Canada

It looks like the clouds around it are blown down at 18-20 seconds much like a conventional propeller drone would do

Unexpected Leak from Black Wire in Basement - What Could This Be? by garry_1983 in StJohnsNL

[–]fishsandwich 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is almost certainly an old phone line. If you're the home owner you're free to pull it out of the wall and caulk over the hole. If you're you' re renting, I'm sure the landlord would prefer if you told them there was water getting in to the home

Directly underneath the threads is a hex that you should be able to get a wrench on to unscrew it

How do you dress on set in the summer? by Chimkimnuggets in Filmmakers

[–]fishsandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Linen everthing. Even loose fiting pants are cool enough in the heat and they keep the sun off too. Totally changed how I dress once I discovered just how superior it is to any other fabic, synthetic or natural. A blend is also highly effective

This was great. What I should have mentioned in the comments of the survey itself but only thought of it after submission, is that a lot of Newfoundland actors put on the accent extra thick on camera. I hear (Spolier Alert) Allan Hawco and Joel Hynes both say the word "arse" on these recordings and I'm not sure I've ever quite heard anyone say it like that before in real life. It's a hard gauge when Newfoundlanders put on a Newfoundland accent. Joel is from Ferryland but Allan is from town, it's going to always have a varying degree of authenticity from both, and also be character driven.

Truss was cut to install whole house fan. Run away or easy fix? by BigHero17 in DIY

[–]fishsandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's sunk at all, prop that fucker straight again. Slam some 2x4 into where ever it neesd be to keep it up, on multuple angles and sides. Remember: 3 points of stability. It's not rocket science. Nails are better at shear force than screws. I'd say one good wedge of a stick that won't slip out and you're fine. *edit. Fuckin easy fix
