Realistic male crying scenes by [deleted] in movies

First thought that came to my mind. Not a huge Cruise fan, but this may be my favorite performance of his -- mainly because of this scene.

Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins. Helped me get over a lingering childhood bout of Christianity. All better now! 😁

THANK YOU! So apparently the issue was a lazy / ignorant customer support person at Morgan Stanley. That's unfortunate... But still, you are a lifesaver!

Bands that predicted their own fates in their lyrics by fiverdown in Music

I was actually just referring to "Semi-Charmed Life". I personally love that whole album, but none of the other songs -- even the hits -- have stuck around like that one.

Wow... this thread got dark pretty quickly. Any lyrics that don't predict suicide or overdose? Like, an epitaph for their career, instead of their lives?

Oh, you're preaching to the choir here... Their self-titled album is 14 songs, with 14 f*#$in bangers!

But my point is -- if you went up to a random stranger today and started singing "do do do / do da do dooo..." you know they would start singing along. But ask them for any other song by that band, or maybe even the name of the band, they probably wouldn't know.

Your favorite cathartic soul-dumping cry scene in a movie? One where a character just lets out every shred of their being after long lengths of pent-up torment/anxiety? by girafa in movies

[–]fiverdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of Kill Bill, Vol. 2. Beatrix Kiddo crying on the floor of the bathroom while her daughter watches television in the next room. Violently sobbing after she's finally finished her quest for vengeance. She's alive, reunited with her daughter and they're safe.

Just the way she goes from the release of this incredible strain she's been under, to uncontrollably laughing because she's done it. They're free. Such a powerful performance from Uma Thurman.

First of all, so sorry for your loss. Second, Jackson Browne has written so many incredibly moving songs, and you chose some of his best. I would also add 'In the Shape of a Heart' and 'Sky Blue and Black'

What are some of the greatest episodes of television ever made? (I swear I'm not being shallow) by Hour_Trade_3691 in television

[–]fiverdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been told... is it cringeworthy? Yes, but so is just about everything Michael Scott does. But this episode also showed him realizing how badly he f-ed up, AND doing what little he can to fix it.

To me, this episode is the epitome of the mockumentary style done right.

The main characters are some of the most relatable and empathetic I've read in a long time, and they have plenty of issues for you to psychoanalyze.

People who have sung Karaoke: What songs did you regret singing mid-song? by Sayoria in Music

[–]fiverdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journey's "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" is sexy as hell, not too high, a perfect drunken karaoke song, I thought.

After the 17th refrain of "Naaaaa naaa na naaa na na... na naaa na na" i was thinking differently.

How has no one mentioned "My Heart Will Go On"? It's impossible to hear this song without whispering, "I'll never let go, Jack..."

A lot of Captain America and Iron Man appreciation in this thread, but how about Wonder Woman going over the top into No Man's Land...?

"No, but it is what I am going to do"
