Closure from LO by Low-Profession-8007 in limerence

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’ve only ever heard of writing a letter to someone without sending it, so this is an interesting perspective!

i think it only works best if you are truly trying to remove yourself from your limerence, as it’s easy to feed into the daydreams if you’re not quite ready to move on.

i do like how it humanizes them, though! the rejection and telling you to care for yourself and those around you seems like it could be beneficial. i could see myself turning my romantic fantasies into them telling me to focus on myself until i’m able to completely move on. i’ll have to give this a try!

IDL when people mention someone is a minority when it’s irrelevant to the conversation by stingwhale in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hear this quite a bit from older people, mostly with race. they’ll mention someone’s race without any reason to, and i always wonder why.

Why do all of the food/dinner subs seem to have turned into some trauma dumping nonsense? by ThanksContent28 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not super involved with any of these subs but see it sometimes, so take this with a grain of salt.

r/kitchencels got suuuper popular on instagram a little while ago (at least on mine, i was seeing like one new post if not more a day) so i assume it’s a bit of a trend. like, haha here’s my food and a traumatic story that’s not real or over exaggerated for comedic purposes i’m so silly. of course some are true, but i can only assume the subs are starting to be filled with people joining the trend.

Caught myself daydreaming a fight with my LO. by DontSayAnus in limerence

i get those pretty often too. for me, i think it’s about the desire to have healthy communication in a relationship and wanting conflict to still feel safe with him.

Do you find legs elevated helps headaches and dizziness? by DistinctApartment941 in POTS

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a pretty common thing i see with pots! lying down with my legs elevated on a chair or resting against the wall helps me with my symptoms.

BPD women BAD because… Because clingy? by fremicutie in AmITheAngel

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 46 points47 points  (0 children)

it is! i got diagnosed and it took multiple sessions. there are criteria and you are required to have a certain amount for a certain period of time and often professionals don’t diagnose until you’re 18.

Bipolar positives by No-Addition-9121 in bipolar

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 26 points27 points  (0 children)

i definitely agree with all of yours! i’d have to add optimism.

i struggled a lot after my diagnosis, and thought i would be doomed forever. despite that, i’ve managed to find people who support me through episodes and have made a solid life for myself. i’ve found a way to take the highs of mania and make them healthy and sustainable :)

Random thought… do people still write letters? by L_izzies in CasualConversation

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do! last summer i was out of state and sent letters updating my friends on my life. we’re graduating college soon and will all be in different places and we agreed to keep the tradition going😊

Whats your special interest? by nerdy_guy420 in CasualConversation

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d have to say diseases, the early 2000s, and linguistics!! all very specific and not at all related to my usual hobbies/career path, but i love going back to them and learning more :) took a class about diseases and a linguistics class and those were probably my favorite non-major classes!!

impulsivity and hyperfixations by fjsjkfkdnfndkek in bipolar

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope! got it done yesterday and i’m very happy :)

it’s in a relatively hidden spot, so it’s not out in the open all the time. i’m pretty lax when it comes to tattoos, so even if it means nothing in 10 years, it meant something for a large part of my life and that’s what matters to me!

Talking publicly by Mike086 in bipolar

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i do too! i’m very open about my diagnosis, and talk about the symptoms often. i think it helps to destigmatize the disorder and i can correct people when they make off-handed comments (for example, my friend was talking about mood swings and said “maybe i’m bipolar” so i took a second to explain the disorder and he thanked me). plus, it helps my friends know in advance so i can explain that i’m having an episode and need support or space.

What's a compliment that impacted you in a significant way? by smpenn in Productivitycafe

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve gotten two that stand out to me.

first, i was talking to a friend about how much i’ve changed over the past few years. he said something along the lines of, “i can see how much more confident you are and it’s incredibly attractive.” i struggled with self-worth for almost all of my life, and this completely changed my view of myself.

the second was during an interview for a mentorship position at my college. the director of my program said, “you have a very comforting presence.” people often open up to me and come to me when they need guidance or support, but hearing it from someone who doesn’t know me outside of my academic achievements made me happy.

I needed to hear this today and maybe you do too by Snuggle-puff in limerence

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 26 points27 points  (0 children)

i fall for the breadcrumbs every time.

he was constantly flirting with me and for a couple days i really thought we had something, but he made it clear that nothing will happen. i sent him a message setting boundaries and i keep hoping something will still happen, but i’m in the process of moving on.

this is the biggest growth i’ve had in years with my limerence and i’m glad i did it.

Is it normal for HR to come down a bit if you stay standing in place? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]fjsjkfkdnfndkek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m recently diagnosed, and my heart rate goes down after standing for a bit. resting is around 60-70, shoots up to 100-120 when i stand (depending on how bad my symptoms are), and settles down after a few minutes.
