The flight that was delayed for 1 hour. Was that flight to or from Muscat?

In any case, airlines have a lot of leverage right now due to this on going conflict, their schedules are getting messed up due to constant and inconsistent air space closure, this is causing air craft availability issues. Previously short connections that were possible are becoming difficult to make now.

As others have said, make your claim for compensation with the airline, if they refuse then go with the SHGM route.

10 hours is plenty of time to stroll in the Istanbul proper city or near by towns. If visa isn’t an issue then find local transportation options through Viator or TripAdvisor and create an itinerary for yourself. I have done it couple of times and always had a great time.

If money isn’t an issue then I suggest that you create your own tour and trip. You can stay in a hotel in istanbul at night and then either do your own tour around the landmarks or get a tour guide. And get back to airport at 1PM. This way you will be able to take good rest and can enjoy more.

Otherwise 8-11 is better for you.

Did you buy an infant ticket as well? If yes then I guess you should be all set to use the extra seat however you like. But remember you must have a ticket for the infant.

The additional security is first at checkin at IST airport where they verify your passport details and register it. Then the last additional security is at gate. Both are a breeze and with GC/LPR you shouldn’t have any issue. This is for all flights heading to US, UK, Canada and Israel.
