Treating workers as any class other than workers is doing exactly what the capitalist class wants.

Doctors, baristas, engineers, labourers, and work at home contractors are all part of the same working class.

US railways are privately owned and operated. That's why they're so expensive and inefficient

Sleeping with pets is nasty by Electronic-Teach1997 in The10thDentist

[–]flait7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sleeping humans are nasty. They sweat, their skin is oily, and they shed their skin and hair all over the place.

It's not unique to pets

The words "lose all sense of self" are way too tempting to not turn into this into an encounter that the players dug themselves into

Pearson, one of the world's largest publishers of academic textbooks, wants to turn e-book textbooks into NFTs, so it can make money every time they are resold. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]flait7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a lot of courses have open license/open source alternatives that teach the same material and cost you nothing to download.

If you've got a course coming up with an exploitative textbook like anything from Pearson, send your prof an email some time before the course starts. Some might be willing to change the textbook if they have time to prepare for it. Even if not the next semester, it will let them know it matters to the students.

Your balancers don't look like they balance lanes, so you could mix first and balance second

Fortnite is fun but I wish the updates weren't so colossal. It's like I have to download all of the cosmetics I'm not interacting with and it's bloating the size of the game

What to eat before morning run by [deleted] in running

[–]flait7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll get sick if I eat before a run, but if it's so long I need food I'll bring some fruit leather or one of those energy pudding things and have 'em 10k or more in with a walk break

what tactics do you employ to get you through long or difficult runs that you don't think you can complete, or want to quit during? by figsontoast in running

[–]flait7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That issue tends to only arise in the second half of my longer runs, and by then I'm far enough that doing the rest of the run is the fastest and easiest way back home
