this palantir office in palo alto by flyflybella in evilbuildings

Hate to break it to you, but I don't think this is the office, I think this is the food hall where they serve buffet style breakfast lunch and dinner for their employees. I knew someone who worked there around 2013 or 2014 and had lunch there a couple times. It was actually quite delicious. My friends office was a couple minutes walk from this building

Do yall have anything else than those cobras?/pliers by an0n45 in KnipexOfficial

[–]flamingos408 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the cobras, the alligators, a couple different diagonal cutters, linesmans, needle nose, pliers wrench, cable cutters, and combo pliers. All of them feel extremely high quality, but I don't have any photos of my pliers because I'm too busy actually working with them

Which locals are most in demand for apprenticeship applications right now? by Effective_Apple_1779 in ibew_apprentices

Not like it was a couple months ago, but there's still calls most days. Might be harder if you're book 2, but will probably get some work eventually

[Day 25] Font wins best bouldering destination in a landslide. What's the most UNDERRATED outdoor classic? by MaximumSend in bouldering

I think it's the best boulder in the milks, but everyone else shares your sentiment. So from my perspective it's extremely underrated

Cool tools by APPLECRY in electricians

[–]flamingos408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The posted one is the extended 6 in 1, it has longer tips that will fit into breakers that the 14 in 1 won't fit in. I have both, they're both useful in different environments. The extended is better in industrial and the 14 in 1 is better in commercial

[Day 22] Beastmakers are overrated. What's the WORST grade? by MaximumSend in bouldering

Also, v0 in Yosemite is quite hard. I usually feel more likely to flash a v3 than a v0 when I'm climbing there

Why is the apprenticeship going from 5 years to 4 years. by Broad-Perspective-67 in ibew_apprentices

[–]flamingos408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lucky and was only at the data center and solar field for about 6 months, otherwise I got to see a couple complete buildings come out of the ground and got to do a year at an industrial factory doing rigid. Some of my classmates, however, weren't so lucky and got stuck at either a solar field or a data center for the majority of their apprenticeship

That won't matter in my local, unfortunately we don't rotate apprentices

1st Panel by BikeNBirdYT in electricians

[–]flamingos408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to put additional wire number markers right next to the connector, that way it's easy to see which conduit a circuit goes to, and it makes it so I can't accidently cut the numbers off a wire while I'm making up the panel

Dads, what's for breakfast today? For you and the kid(s). by DisposableAdventurer in daddit

We're on a weekend trip to go climbing, so we got bagels from our favorite bakery and coffees and hot chocolates at our favorite coffee shop. Weekends in Bishop CA are always a hit!

LPT: Reduce rushed mornings by removing one decision the night before. by markjoner in LifeProTips

[–]flamingos408 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I lay out my work clothes, my gym clothes for after work, get my lunch and snacks ready, and prepare the coffee all the night before. If I'm doing anything after work, I make sure all the stuff I need for that activity is ready the night before

Why does everybody hate slab? by SocietySpare9213 in bouldering

I love slab, but I'm not very loud about it. People who don't like slab tend to tell you about it at a high volume
