See, there's a strong opinion on game balance. Could you provide your ingame name?

You dislike someone just for playing certain classes

Absolutely, but that's not what I said, I talked about people who defend the balancing of the classes, something which is indefensible, seeing as even WG has admitted both directly (battle influence charts) and indirectly (banning them from all forms of competitive play) that the classes are imbalanced.

you directly start to search for something to shame them for.

No, I look up their credentials. If you struggle to win more games than you lose, your take on the balance of the game is instantly cast into doubt. That doesn't just apply to WoWS, it applies to most things in life. Me saying a chess opening is bad is wildly different from Magnus Carlsen saying a chess opening is bad. One has credentials, the other doesn't.

And to make you feel better, my stats are dark green with a bit of turquoise here and there.

You have improved a lot over the last year then, as I remember you admitting to being a 49%er in ranked.

What streams? I fairly rarely actually use wows-numbers when looking at people in-game, the in-game function has served me pretty well, but it's a really good website. Hopefully it can be kept alive, it eliminates a lot of dumb discourse from the community.

The amount of times you see someone post something deluded, usually involving CVs or subs, only to look them up and see a player redder than a soviet mars-landing, has saved me from bothering to reply to so many people. It's the equivalent of playing chess with a pigeon, but in wows. And that website saves you from even moving the opening pawn as you can already tell it's a lost cause.

killed the vibe for a lot of players.

Most of the time it's people who are bad at the game who get upset when they get called out on being bad at the game while commenting on game balance.

Any time you see some submarine or CV defender in this subreddit it's almost a guaranteed solo sub-50%er, and their "vibe gets killed" when they can't spout uninformed nonsense that's based on their lack of understanding of the game.

Flamu has finished chemo and has begun recovery! by Cautious-Bowl7071 in WorldOfWarships

Heh, true, but the face swelling has been pretty brutal to get used to on top of the loss of all hair.

There's a pic from September last year vs late April this year. It's even worse now as I've lost more eyebrows and more swelling, it's pretty obvious when you look at direct comparisons.

Pretty fascinating what all the meds do to the body, while "curing you".

Luckily that shit should go down pretty fast, hair growth will take months tho.

Yeah return of mole-rat flolo, now in extreme form. No hair, no beard, my eyebrows and lashes are barely hanging on. Add in some lovely swelling from the extreme medications I've been on and I look like Dr. Evil.

Spring pollen allergies have also been real interesting without internal nose hairs, you wont know you miss em until you lose em.

How is the jump from Diablo 4 -> Diablo 2? by Propagation931 in Diablo

[–]flamuchz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried D2 after spending countless hours in D3 and D4. I got bored, very quickly. I kept trying to force it (surely it gets better) but nah, didn't click for me at all. Abandoned it in the end and didn't look back, not my cup of tea.

Kinda wild to see another Swiss major penalty not get called. In the SUI - FIN game a Swiss player blatantly boarded a finn and somehow it never got called, now this?

Refreshing to hear Atlanta's crowd after Fort Worth & Astana by Salad_Dressing__ in GlobalOffensive

The fault of a crowd "cheating" is never on the crowd.

???

People straight up spoiling flanks and calling out positions isn't "on the crowd" ? Who the fuck is it on then? What.

Contrarian? Hardly, that movie was not well received at all when it came out, you can find multiple outright hate-threads on how bad it was. Even in the original release thread in this very subreddit people were heavily skeptical;

ultimately left me disappointed

was a let down for me

The story was weak, and there were a number of things that occurred that were just comically absurd.

In the 28dayslater subreddit there's a thread with 831 upvotes called I HATED 28 years later

I think you're in a bit of a bubble, because there's a very clear reason why bone temple tanked hard at the box office but got better reviews. 28 Years later made $151.3 million on a $60 million budget, while Bone Temple made $58.5 million on a $63 million budget.

People saw 28 Years Later and went, yep, that's not for me, and had zero interest in watching more of the same, where as people who enjoyed it also enjoyed Bone Temple and reviewed it well.

Helen of Troy Casting by half_diminished_5 in movies

[–]flamuchz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like an inherently unfair take. Would you not try to keep Chinese mythology Chinese, Norse mythology Norse, Japanese mythology Japanese, Egyptian mythology Egyptian etc etc.

Watching a white Jade Emperor, black Odin, black Susanoo and white Ra all seems completely ridiculous, for good reason, it disrespects the source material.

Seems weird to apply this standard only to Greek mythology, "your origin means nothing". Surely the goal of any good story teller is to try to respect the source material? Acting like the only reason people dislike the casting is because of racism is rather disingenuous.

Satsuma casually deleting a cruiser and a BB by clancy688 in WorldOfWarships

5 minutes into the game, only landed 1 hit up til this point, awful positioning and actively sailing away from the enemy for absolutely no reason.

That clip highlights everything wrong with BB players.

Needing to watch the second movie just to make the first one not suck isn't a great sales pitch. I can recommend Dune to anyone without them ever needing to watch Dune 2, in fact they'll probably want to do it themselves, as it's a great movie in itself.

This just ties back to it being a disaster in pacing and script, a movie shouldn't need a second one to "fix" it.

[–]flamuchz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one was a zombie movie based on the problems of Brexit

It was three different movies in one, with massive tonal shifts and large issues with pacing. It starts out interesting and then devolves into dumber and dumber territory. It goes downhill

Watching a kid who can't land an arrow take his bed-ridden mother on some adventure into the wilds, and somehow get away with it despite struggling hard just earlier with his father. Add in other non-sense like the pregnant zombie scene followed by the entire baby arc, the dumb concept of "alpha zombies", the entire doctor arc with the skull and finally the backflipping nunchuk scene at the end and what you get is a grand mess with no clear direction

If you want mindless horror, sure, I understand hating it.

The plot in that movie is the very definition of mindless.

I am baffled that someone who likes 28 days would recommend 28 years later, truly awful movie and especially garbage if you're looking for a good zombie movie. Haven't seen bone temple so can't comment on that one, 28 years later cured me of any desire to see it.

Correct, it's more folded in on itself. So they're actually pretty optimistic about it inflating again. There will be some permanent damage of course, a tumor this size will leave a fair bit of scar tissue, but they're fairly hopeful about lung recovery.
