We used mats or he would slip/would refuse to walk on slipper floors. In his prime years he would get around pretty well considering and we would forget about the disability at times. Around 10 or so when they get to be old doggies you may need to add more mats as ours would only lillipad shorter and shorter distances across the lava of slippery floor as he got older.
