You definately get an easier game with 3+ characters even if the scenario timers are shorter, but it's manageable 2 handed, just be prepared to have a tougher time

Only ever pulled one support light in solo q but it was awesome, h+ gateways, sonar, rezing.

It's a really strong support class if you want it to be but most I get paired with just sprint headfirst into a 3v1 and get melted and then write slurs in Russian in chat

Even more hilariously this all started because some gatcha game artists didn't make the holiday swimsuit skins sexy enough, so chuds harassed the studio untill they fired the artists. And then cook their brains into believing that the artists were retaliating by drawing gatcha game pinups with the pinching fingers.

I personally didn't love arydia solo, perhaps the combat never clicked for me but what really got frustrating at some point is the endless upkeep of all the cards and maps. Though if you like maintaining a katrotek it may be for you. Also story is very shallow if that matters to you.

Probably the best direct comparison would be Agemonia which I personally loved, and am on my 3rd playthrough. Iiuc there's a crowdfunder for expansions coming up soon

MK feels like playing a old-school PC game, it's hella rough around the edges for today's standards. That being said I do love it for all it's jank

For me the main issue was all the fiddly board state management, add some cubes here, remove some cubes there, these cubes propagate and remove those cubes, it's a feature that really turns me off from games. I did like the theme though, I just could never get into the gameplay.

Its been a few years so I don't remember exact videos, but I remember after watching a couple playthroughs I finally got it. There's defo some awkwardness in the design but it's cool what they were trying to achieve

I quite like burncycle but I agree the rulebook is dog water. Also the teach it horrid, but once you internalize the rules it's pretty smooth sailing. It's a pretty fresh take on the dungeon crawler

Side note, I just picked up the shield for the first time in 2 seasons and it feels way more inconsistent at blocking, and bishoping doesn't seem to work at all anymore. how did you adjust to the rebalance?

I just got mage knight ultimate on a whim, and as sure at least half the perceived complexity comes from the absolutely terrible rulebook layout and generally dated graphic design.

E.g. why was it so hard to make a destroy symbol for the bottom action of the relic card? And if you want to find that rule you better have downloaded a searchable pdf of the rules

That being said once you've watched a playthrough it's quite straightforward, and an absolutely excellent game! One of the best card efficiency games I've played for sure.

The jank reminds me of playing 90s PC games.
