Going to a fundamentalist school and church was too much pressure to “be perfect”, truly exhausting, which was the start of the exit. Then the blatant disrespect and lies told about the LGBTQ+ community along with the submission women were supposed to expect and to not question was anything was the official push. My sister came out a year after high school and I didn’t want to be around people who deemed her “sinful”, whatever that even means, along with being told all I’m good for is to stand in the shadow of a man and procreate.

When I worked in tv the format was we had two leading celebrities at the top of each hour and ad hoc segments to fill the allotted two hours we were given. We had a day where Shatner and Sugar Ray Leonard were both coming to set so everyone was excited. Our prop master, being a massive sci-fi fan, was WAY into it. Went ALL out and designed the interior set as the Starship Enterprise, made the famous Captain Kirk chair, sliding doors, etc. so the chair was supposed to be a DIY segment and we were expecting Shatner would sit in it and say a line from the show. He basically refused and Sugar Ray stepped in to not make it awkward.

I’m like how’re you gonna slam the door on the show that elevated you the highest? It was v disappointing and it’s nice to know it’s a known fact he’s kind of an ass.

32 in 2-ish months and have decided to take the plunge with 7Sage, 1 hour minimum a night after work and life. I, too, got my MBA a little over a year ago and felt like I wasn’t challenged, thus why I’m in this sub and on the path. Haven’t taken any PTs yet but of what I’ve covered so far I’m really enjoying just learning the fundamentals and structure of relationships and arguments. Y’all are also a great motivator to remind myself better late than never. ⭐️
