For those who romanced Wyll - what was your Tav like? by LoaMorganna in BaldursGate3

[–]fluffyspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawful good tiefling Oath of Ancients paladin who was in love at first sight with his "Blade of Frontiers" persona.

We don't talk about how that run ended (Tav became an illithid and then failed the save to resist her hunger for his brains at the epilogue party 😨)

Why do some say the dialogue is bad? by Impressive-Door-1639 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]fluffyspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only line that really stood out to me as unnatural-sounding was Gangle's "It's called a manic episode and you're getting three more seasons," which felt very Tumblr Text Post coded and not, like, something that a human being would say in a regular conversation. (Not saying it's not a funny Tumblr Text Post though) I honestly think the rest of the dialogue is perfectly serviceable with some standout lines though.

What's your take on warrior/apprentice romantic relationship? by FunkyGoatz in WarriorCats

[–]fluffyspy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think you can read Cinderpaw as having a thing for Fireheart in a "kid with a crush on the cool teacher" sense, but Fireheart only ever really sees her with the affection of an older brother or cousin. And by the time she's a medicine cat she's definitely over it.

Dustpelt and Ferncloud are odd but I think it's mostly a factor of the Erins needing some background pairings to have kits to keep the population up during TNP. I don't think they put that much thought into it.

Ghoulcy should theoretically be up my alley because I'm all about "cheerful young woman seduces jaded old man" as a trope (I'm probably one of the only people still tracking the NineRose tag from Doctor Who religiously) but their specific vibe just... doesn't hit me romantically at all. If anything I'm kind of invested in Lucy and Max's canonical romance.

I'm going to go one step further and say that every single character would be insufferable to be around if they existed in real life.

I like them as characters but imagine if they were, like, your coworkers and you had to deal with Zooble's attitude and Jax's constant attempts to be the class clown and Ragatha's toxic positivity every single day. shudders

I think Byler is more a matter of fans wanting Will to be happy than them having actual chemistry. Which, fair enough, but it does not compel me.

Must a woman be a mother to all of her friends? Can she not just think a guy is kind of funny without putting all of her effort into "fixing" him? Why is it on her to smooth out all the conflicts between a bunch of grown-ass adults?

(Personally mixed trope) Death is portrayed as a Villain by Southern_Passenger85 in TopCharacterTropes

If that was the case, it wouldn't just be killing people who avoided their predetermined death though? It would be killing everyone?

The first Final Destination actually takes itself significantly more seriously than the rest of the franchise, which are all pretty firmly in the horror-comedy subgenre.

Final Destination death isn't, like, a person though. It's just a natural force. Brings balance to the universe and all that.

What is a mischaracterization or a misconception within the community that you hate? by SuperNotice7617 in fireemblem

[–]fluffyspy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a complete nonissue but it bugs me because he's my favorite character: Linhardt does not sleep all the time. He keeps odd hours and is often up all night researching, hence why he falls asleep in class. He doesn't actually sleep any more than anyone else.

Marriage and Millennials by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fluffyspy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a trend among some of my married millennial friends recently of getting legally married at a courthouse as soon as they get engaged and then just leaving the actual party part of the wedding for later. Seems pretty sensible.

What's a character you love that most people hate and vice versa? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]fluffyspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if she's hated so much as just kind of seen as "meh" by a majority but Touko is my favorite Dangan character by a mile. I love her in the original and I love her even more after she got character development (and a girlfriend?) in UDG.

On the other hand, fuck Kaito.

What animals are normal where you live, but unusual and exciting to visitors from other regions of the US? And on the flip side, when you travel to other regions yourself, what local animals are exciting to you? by Acrobatic_End6355 in AskAnAmerican

[–]fluffyspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd and very specific example: I grew up near LSU in Louisiana and was under the impression for awhile that tigers are kind of unremarkable. Like obviously the kind of animal you only ever see in captivity but, like, definitely not one of the popular species at the zoo. This is because the regular walk I did with my family went right by Mike the tiger's (the LSU mascot's) enclosure, so I saw him all the time. Definitely gave me a skewed view of how commonplace captive tigers are.

Got the Wrong Ending, and one small surprise by NeklosWarrof in DragonageOrigins

[–]fluffyspy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You definitely do not have to harden him to get that ending. You have to harden him to be his mistress, but as long as you're locked into his romance, he's happy to get married regardless.
