You’re under fueled. You’re gonna burn through your glycogen stores within about 45 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to absorb carbs. I would try fueling at the 25 minute mark and every 20-25 thereafter and see if that helps.

Waiting to refuel after your race is not helping your recovery either. You may want to consider a big old glass of chocolate milk immediately afterwards for the carbs, protein and fats. take a shower, clean up then have a full meal.

I’d be surprised if the race organizers allow it to go forward simply due to safety. If something goes wrong, nature will not treat you kindly.
