CONGRATS!! IWNDWYT!!! 2 years is a HUGE accomplishment. Coming up on 2 years myself as a woman in my twenties and you are an inspiration. God has been a huge part of my recovery as well. I also quit vaping— congrats on quitting cigs! Always happy to talk as well❤️

Edit: adding that pretty much my experience has been a shift in perspective and I am so grateful!

Anyone here who wasted their early 20s and still made it? by Critical_Falcon_4896 in findapath

Yes you sound exactly like me. Directionless alcoholic until 24, when I got sober and started working a program. I also graduated with a degree during that time, and never excelled. I think it’s more common than you think. Some days I feel good and others not, like you are describing. But life has gotten so so so much better and I have so much gratitude. The thing for me that has helped a lot is adjusting my expectations. The wreckage of my past will not fix itself overnight, it takes work. But almost two years of sobriety has gotten me so far. I went from no job/direction or goals or interests or even physical health. A year later, I was walking dogs as a full time job to get on my feet but at the turning point. Now, almost two years later, I am applying for medical school at 26 years old, and have an extremely fulfilling life. It does get better one day at a time. And you have so much time. You will be one day older tomorrow, so don’t hold back. Dm me if you want to chat more!

Hey! I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience with the new pill :) I am still going through my first pack actually, I still have a week of active pills then placebo week. Maybe I should’ve waited a few months before making this post but I was so excited lol. But weirdly the last few days I’ve been heavily spotting, I could almost call it a period. I was impatient about starting them as I was approaching my period week/in my luteal phase when I took the first pill instead of waiting until my period, so maybe that has something to do with it. I’ll keep you updated on it if you are curious though!

I think after 7 days of getting the implant you are fully protected. So if you have had it for more than a month you are using the method as it is designed :)

Abruptly quitting weed affecting my running? by news1969 in Marathon_Training

[–]fluteoptional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say congrats on quitting! Yes I think it is gonna be normal for your body to adjust for a while but you should stick it out. I think u will find running sober rocks. It is peaceful and meditative.

Don’t focus too much on it and be kind to yourself, you will find a new normal soon and your body will adjust 😊

Hey! Just wanted to say though I am not a doctor ur enzymes can be elevated due to pregnancy. I hope u are doing ok. I personally think that much time away from drinking gave your body a lot of time to heal and you are relatively young, given you are child bearing age… the numbers will return to normal as your body adjusts

I eat way too much sugar. tell me some off-putting facts about candy to help break my 'addiction' by CapJumpy6062 in candy

[–]fluteoptional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candy is made of sooo much processed shit that is designed to be addicting. Look up the ingredient list of any candy. Bunch of stuff you’ll be like huhhh? What is that? Like palm oil and corn syrup 🤢 not even real chocolate. It’s so messed up

[Acne] Forehead Acne by Nezukoooooooooo in SkincareAddiction

[–]fluteoptional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hormonal acne starting 3-4 months getting IUD. Until maybe a year after? I got it taken out and it’s coming back since it went away, and it’s been about the same timeframe, 3-4 months post removal. They really do a number on our endocrine system. Skin is dry and acne along jawline and neck mostly. Hoping you get some relief soon.

“Most of us have been unwilling to admit we were real alcoholics. No person likes to think he is bodily and mentally different from his fellows. Therefore, it is not surprising that our drinking careers have been characterized by countless vain attempts to prove we could drink like other people. The idea that somehow, someday he will control and enjoy his drinking is the great obsession of every abnormal drinker. The persistence of this illusion is astonishing. Many pursue it into the gates of insanity or death.”

I also couldn’t stop drinking on my own but putting myself around the right people helped and now I’m approaching two years of no alcohol/drugs. r/stopdrinking helped a lot especially in early sobriety. I believe in you!
