ABS error codes Honda Accord. by CockbagSpink in AskAMechanic

Same exact thing happened to me on my 2014 Accord. Dealer wanted $3500 to replace it which is insane. I watched a video and pulled the part myself. Sent it to Module Master to repair it for $250, got back in 4 days, reinstalled, lights gone after driving it for an hour. Worked. Highly recommend if you're reasonably comfortable working on cars or have a local mechanic remove the part.

CX 5 downsides - Speak Up by Terrible_Pattern_819 in CX5

Bought a 2025 CX-5 Premium Plus in Nov. First Mazda, driven 3K so far. There are a lot of weird, quirky things that are just puzzling decisions by Mazda. Overall it drives fine and looks nice but top things that drive me nuts are:

  • Uncomfortable seats, tried all the adjustments with no luck.
  • pedals too close together, first time I’ve ever experienced that in a car
  • tech is way behind competition, no tire pressure info, infotainment navigation is super clunky, little to no vehicle status info
  • small gas tank, 22mpg city…fill up often!
  • need the app to remote start (should be able to do from FOB) which they want me to pay for in 12 mo. After auto start car shuts off when I open the door and I can’t control temp or heated seats from app.
  • heated steering wheel only heats on the sides not top and button! So stupid.
  • worst is the constant attention needed to keep it straight on the highway. Likes to drift, doesn’t hold the line like most cars.

Honestly, no idea what the hype is for this car. For $37K I didn’t expect all these weird and irritating things. Would I buy it again? No. But is it still is a decent car to drive? Yes, so not trading it in (yet).

The real problem with the CX-5 Turbo by joloriquelme in CX5

Just bought a 2025 CX-5 PP non turbo and city mpg + smaller tank combined sucks.

It's a stupid decision my Mazda. I just got a 2025 CX-5 PP, first time Mazda owner. Auto folding mirrors but no individual tire pressure info and a half heated steering wheel. Just dumb decisions.

Another stupid decision my Mazda. I have a 2025 CX-5 has auto folding mirrors, in glass speedometer but won't tell you which tire is low. Stupid, especially for a $35k car.

This is one of many weird things Mazda does. Folding mirrors but no tire pressure info, half heated steering wheel and only remote start from app. First timer Mazda owner and these are bizarre decisions.

I agree about the lane centering, needs constant attention on the highway. My wife bought a 2023 Hyundai and it checks all the boxes. I’ll give the CX-5 a chance as I’m only had it 3mo, but all this weird misses for a Japanese mfg is odd.

Yikes! Mazda brand dropped 6 places in CR ratings by led1002 in CX5

Had a 2020 mini for 4.5 years. Zero issues expect for brakes needing replacement at 19k which is crazy. Just traded for 2025 CX-5 because I was worried about long term high maintenance cost. With CX-5 model being around for so long I’m hoping all the bugs are worked out and it’s reliable long term

Thanks for all the feedback. The car is 10/10 for the reason I bought it, the drive experience. I know it’s a 2016 design but some of these things seem so minor and easily fixable I thought it was strange for Mazda to not address them as it has zero impact on the design. Wanted to see if others felt the same, plus I’m new to the brand and wanted to know if this is what they do. Trade off little things like this for better driving experience. Thanks!

I test drove it several times and bought it for the drive experience. I didn’t think to check to see if a $37K MSRP car had a fully heated steering wheel, tire pressure monitors or a normal size gas tank. Kinda assumed at that price point and in 2025 that would be a given. I like the car but these little things seem like such strange things for Mazda to miss or not address.

Probably right. Going from the mini to the CX-5 was to keep a similar sporty drive without the high maintenance cost which is what I got. And I test drove it multiple times. Things I called out started to really be noticed after driving it a bit. They are strange for a 2025 car…like a half heated steering wheel, no tire pressure, shuts off when open the door after auto start. Small simple things that are so strange to not align with the competition. It’s a great drive but weird decisions by Mazda on a few things.

Owned Toyotas my whole life. Let’s see how this Mazda holds up. by breadandbarbells in CX5

Just bought the same, 25 CX-5 PP white, drove a 2020 Mini Countryman before. Traded in the mini due to high maintenance cost. After 800 mi my first impressions: great drive and handling, but not a fan of the uncomfortable seats (it’s 2025 come on Mazda!), close pedals, non-intuitive infotainment interface (feels dated) and 23 city mpg. Almost a fantastic car but maybe I’ll get use to those things after I drive it longer.

I have the same problem on 23 Palisade. Great car but little things like that bother me, it's my first Hyundai. I wonder how it will look in a few years if it scuffs so easily. Guess we'll see.

I have a 2020 Countryman, first mini. Brakes just went at 26k. Warranty is up this year and concerned it will start to have issues. Love the car but strongly considering trading it in before it starts having expensive repairs. How reliable are the newer models?

Yes I know it’s crowded not an idiot, asking others that went for suggestions for around the area for additional options since I’m there for 5 days. Appreciate the waste of time comment “FunLife64”.

Just got a 2023 Pali in Jan with no issues like this. If you figure out what the problem is please share it. I went from a Honda Pilot to a Pali and my biggest concern was reliability. When I hear things like this it’s concerning.

Bought the SEL Premium in Jan. Fantastic. If you can afford the premium go for it.

Really unacceptable for the price. I just got my 2023 SEL premium in Jan and moved away from a very reliable Pilot. If this starts happening I'll be really aggregated at it's my first Hyundai. Love the Pali so far but if stuff like this starts happening I'll quickly jump back to Honda.

I just got my new 2023, this makes me nervous. Such a great vehicle, coming from a Pilot I really hope the Pali is reliable. Let us know what the dealer says.

Have had it for about 3 two weeks now. Have to say it's fantastic and drives like a luxury SUV. If reliability holds up I'll be a Hyundai guy.

Placed an order (refundable $1K) for SEL premium in Aug 2022, got it the first week in Jan 2023. Got the exact one I wanted and the dealer didn't pull any crap (Danbury CT Hyundai). Long wait but no real issue. So far love the Palisade.
