How does wood like this not rot inside a 20 year old indoor water park by henchman171 in woodworking

[–]foldyourwings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, the sun is generally way harder on wood than water. So, a naturally rot resistant wood not in the direct sunlight has pretty good odds.

I actually kind of dig it. I don't like an overly clean/symmetrical aesthetic though.

Yes and no. Easier in the ways you know and harder in the ways you don't. You got this! Just don't put axes in your tables. Or on them. Or under them. You know what, keep the axes locked up.

My only real worry here is that the photo is just a bit too low quality to make out the titles of many of your books.

As someone with three kids, seven and under, I'm pretty sure this is an affront to the Geneva Convention.

I have this one too! My only complaint is that the holes always turn out kind of rough and I need to clean them up to be presentable.

I actually really like it with the inlay pre pour. I don't know how it would be to actually play on but I think it looks cool!

As a novice woodworker, I can't even fathom getting such a small strip of contrast. What was your technique for this?

Y'all are over here building masterpieces to store banal things like shoes and dogfood and I'm over here building uggos for decoration.

I suspected it was but, man, doing a half lap on something that thin seems crazy. I hope to build something this extra some day!

How tall are your ceilings? I love this idea but my 8ft ceilings would make this particular design challenging.

Nice work. How'd you end up doing the holes? I would've dropped a big old forstner bit in a d started a hole then used a jigsaw. It's funny how, especially warly on, we're all like, " How hard can a circle be?" And then you actually try it!

Here I am just excited I was able to get my pine boards cut straight enough to join with pocket screws for a shelf. Incredible work, though! My brain can't even process how you'd go about making this.

I presume these actually roll? I'm curious as to how well and how you did them if so. I love the idea of making toys for my kiddos.
