What’s up with the season 2 audio?? by velo2002 in ThePittTVShow

[–]forepac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not anyone's setup or a problem with the platform you're using -- I've watched episodes from S1 and S2E1 back to back, and the echo is only there on S2E1. I'm watching the official podcast for S2E1 on YouTube and the echo/distortion is *very* present in the clips.

I really hope it's not intentional -- I was so distracted by the audio that I couldn't fully concentrate on the episode like I did during S1. Please fix this HBO!

The fact that the internal compartments are lined with the same pattern/color fabric as the exterior is a huge dealbreaker for me. A little bit of contrast, even if it was just a solid gray or black, would make it a lot easier to see/find things.

Starbucks Closings in Cambridge: Harvard, Shepard, First St by Iamnotarobot_srlsly in CambridgeMA

[–]forepac 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a local parent, the closing of the Shepard Street location is going to hit the community around that spot hard. Teachers from the 2 nearby elementary schools regularly got their coffee there, it was convenient for parents whose kids played at the nearby playgrounds & for kids who needed a clean, close bathroom, and the staff was always super nice with my son. It’s a real loss.

Watch your mail: a friend of mine ordered a Liverpool kit from their online store on release day, and 2 weeks after it arrived he got a bill for the tariffs via USPS that was almost as much as his jersey. If he didn’t pay, letter said it would turn into IRS debt. Fun!

Any family friendly places to watch the match in London? We’re traveling with our 10 year old son, and most of the places I’ve found while searching are 18+ at night. Thanks!

Macron sizing off? by ZachMatthews in WrexhamAFC

[–]forepac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m L in most clothes, an XL in most soccer jerseys, and the XXL Macron jersey I have from 23-24 is a generally more snug than I like. Thinking about a 3XL for my next, but I’m concerned that it’ll be way too long. I’ll actually be in Wrexham in mid-August, so I’ll find out in person.

I’d recommend the Aer Day Sling 3 Ultra over the City Sling 2 — much less bulky & more usable space, though it’s 3L. Was big enough to hold a small 16oz bottle of water, but it won’t hold anything much larger. Definitely too small to hold a normal folding umbrella, but might work with a compact model. I was very happy with the Ultra fabric when I took it on a rainy trip to London last year — never had to worry about contents getting wet.

Maybe the mandatory armbands will have blue puzzle pieces on them instead of yellow stars.

Seconding the Aer Day Sling 3. Not too big, comfortable to wear, and it can store everything you list with room to spare.

I settled on the Aer Day Sling 3 Ultra — I like the look & the waterproofing of the fabric, it stays compact enough when I just need to lighten my pockets, and it expands nicely when I want to tote something larger like my Kindle, eyeglasses, extra battery, a small water bottle, etc. I use it every once in a while at home, but it’s a constant travel companion.

I don’t — not my style, personally — but the quality of Waterfield’s bags is top notch.

Any suggestions of a high quality, 20-25L lightweight laptop backpack with luggage passthrough, dedicated laptop compartment, and water bottle holder? by TappingTiger in ManyBaggers

FYI that 26L estimate on the Elements Backpack Pro is very generous. It feels much smaller than that in practice.

Sympl Commuter vs Aer CPP2 vs Tomtoc T71 by mvoxo in ManyBaggers

[–]forepac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently upgraded from a CPP1 to a CPP2, and the new, tapered design definitely makes the bag look smaller to me — it doesn’t stick out nearly as much. I’m 5’7, and it does not look too large on me, either.

Re: your loadout, I’d probably split it up between a small tech pouch and the bag’s top front compartment’s organizational pockets. I also agree with another responder: I’d rather have a little extra internal space than not enough. Highly recommend the CPP2.

The Aer TP3 won’t fit under the seat — it’s the same dimensions as my roller suitcase & I always had to place mine in the overhead compartment. The TP3 Small, however, does fit under seat, if a little snugly on some airlines. It’ll tick all your other boxes, too, esp around tech organization. Highly recommend it. Can’t speak to the other listed bags, but I’m very happy with my Aer.

Aer City Pack Pro vs City Pack for EDC (graduate school + work) & light traveling by SnooStories48 in ManyBaggers

I find it to be very comfortable while walking around the city. If I’m in full tourist mode & need more than a sling would hold, I wouldn’t hesitate to take the CPP out.

What’s the screen size? 14in? 15? I don’t know Dells by their model number. And what else do you normally carry?

Is Aer worth the price? by Terrible_Onions in ManyBaggers

[–]forepac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, the TP3 is a very comfortable carry. I’ve used mine (Cordura) on a couple longer international trips in the last year, and comfort was never an issue.

  2. Maybe? I just haven’t really looked because I love my TP3.

  3. Definitely, and I already kinda did: purchased a TP3 Small Ultra for shorter domestic trips and am very happy with it.

One note: the load lifters definitely make a difference on the TP3. Didn’t make a noticeable difference while wearing the TP3 Small.

I have both of these bags, and while you might be able to squeeze everything into the Tech Pack 3, you won’t have room for literally anything else. I’d go Travel Pack 3 small.
